Got my shifter ball on the way. Score. Lol
Anyway, I did order my speed hut GPS speedo. Had right and left blinker indicator and bright light indicator. Cannot wait till I am at the point of installing it and the other gauges.

Got some damage done today. My buddy joe is in from San Antonio and we got things goin. Had to pull the motor one more time and do some more adjustments on the headers and mounts but after that, Trans went in. Might be close to using the stock drive shaft length as well.
Will be modding the console to fit the shifter. So things are looking great finally. The shifter location is great.

How is the rear clearance once you have it in 2/4/6?? Think about putting a slight forward tilt to the arm?
Glad you got it this far. Looks like both of us are making some real good progress.

It looks ok, I was originally thinking I should bend the shifter forward because I thought it was going to be further up. Once the shifter **** is on and everything is together, I'll make adjustments as needed.
Doing it the way I did was easier than picking the cab up, was able to install the Trans, make the marking for where to cut, then pull the Trans back out and make the new hole and then get it back in. It was easier than my 3rd gens to get the 6 speed in and out. An automatic I think would be easier to lift the cab but you wouldn't have to cut a hole in the floor either. Lol

Trans is officially in, modded the stock X member. Chop, cut, rebuild. Exhaust routing should be simple. Easier than my third gens.

So, for gauges, I was going to use some flat aluminum and they didn't have any at tractor supply, but they had diamond plate aluminum. Got it mocked up in the location I like, what do you guys think?

The other thought is to paint it black maybe.

That's why I was going to paint it black.
And it stays, the metal was not free, so scrapping it is not an option. Lol
Damn Ed, for someone ding an S10 swap you sure take the easy way out on a swap that is not exactly easy. Lol

Yeah, I left my working gauges in the dash...
I don't have the money to buy a custom dash kit.. I want mine RUNNING and driving down the track, and for that I need water temp, oil pressure, and voltage. Everything else is actually unnecessary but I got a tank with a sender to work with my dash gauge so I could keep an eye on it without possibly contaminating the gas in the tank with trash.

It was a like or dislike and not really a "hey, I have no clue what to do do let me take suggestions". Pretty clear. And input on if anyone thought I should go ahead with painting it black.
It will look fine once its done. That being said, I would make it brushed looking instead of shiny. Take a scotch pad and see how it turns out on the back side of it. Or some wrinkle black. Wrinkle black fixes everything lol
Plenty of them in here

And I didn't even think of the wrinkle black, that's what I'm going to do. Wrinkle finish on the diamond pattern will be sweet.
I usually do my valve covers with that stuff, so idk why I didn't think of it! Lol
Grab you a mustang 8.8 LSD off ebay for fairly cheap... check if it needs clutches and toss it in with new bearings all through the unit and you have a strong and reliable setup.
Is that rear 28 or 31 spline?
