it's hard to believe it's been a year and 4 months since I've last started it. anyone know where the best place to sell my old tubular uppers/lowers off of my 69 Camaro? they are speedway control arms that are made in USA by Golden Star Auto here in Lewisville, TX

I went with the smith racecraft, but i considered the trz ones.

Not that too many will care, but picked this up for the wife. It is a 98 and really clean. Just a roller. But has full suspension and borla. Going to go with a LY6 with a cam, 4L80 with 4000 converter. Then I'll sell her old 98 that is tuned with suspension. She is keeping the ram air hood off the old car and this one will sell with the other.

I don't have a problem with that. Now parts failure on the other hand. Lol. God couldn't have saved the 94 GT.

before the first red car came over, i had scheduled another car to come over "after" the first red car arrived and i realized it has huge rust issues that need to be dealt with. i kept my word and grabbed the 2nd red car from a new customer i hadn't done anything for yet. this one was just going to be an exhuast system, but it looks like i'm going to be repairing some of the wiring and stream lining the fuel system (taking the customer installed holley pump that's mounted in the engine bay off and making the in-tank pump work with a return type regulator). i found some other odd things with the car i'll fixing as well. hoping to have it wrapped up by weekend's end.

it's a t-5 car and i'm using a pair of hedman 68460's that i modified to clear the slave cylinder last night. i'm doing this in the driveway and when the sun went down i called it a night.

i think this one will be a good little runner when it's done. it's got some older trickflow twisted wedge heads on top of a 383.

got some good wrenching in last weekend. pulled the entire front suspension and steering out of the Camaro for new boots/ bushings, pins etc and to install the new control arms. started re-assembling the driver's side suspension and realized that TRZ sent me two passenger side lower control arms. I was excited about getting the car of of jack stands for the first time in a year. The new control arm should arrive today.

this weekend I should be able to get it back sitting on all 4, find the final engine placement and start notching the crossmember to make room for the alternator. then I can figure out what to do for a transmission crossmember.

it's all down hill from there!

I say it's down hill from there. I started listing the last couple of things I need to do and realized I have more planned than I thought. it's never ending.

Friday i ran down to my cousin's place and picked up the 1996 tahoe from him that he normally uses to tow his firebird with. the trans went out in it and after about a year of debating what we were going to do with it, i gave him a whopping $350 for it (he'd been trying to sell for about 9 months with no bites, the price was a good-cousin deal, lol!). i took the wheels/tires off of it, as well as an Air Lift air bag load assist system that had barely any use on it. i then sold the tahoe saturday morning, not 8 hours from when i got it home for $500, so not a bad evening's work, lol!

the rest of the day saturday was spent wrestling with the side job. got the exhaust built and verified the factory in-tank pump was there still and functioned.

i spent sunday working on the floor in the basement and got the camaro to the shop in PA so i didn't get anything else really done. i hope i'm able to get this car finished up and shipped out to the customer by tomorrow.

Nice Matt. I've been spending more than I'm making. Buttttt I have a carb update.

Current deal besides the 98 TA build.

Got a LY6 for the 89 mustang. Waiting on cam, springs, pushrods to come in from cammotion. Gonna find out how well the junkyard dog square port cam can deliver with a 6014 and Vic Jr from SK speed. I'm excited since the gray coupe ran well thrown together and now I'll be using a set of heads that crank 330 CFM as well as a cam made for my application. To top it off with a intake that is a great performer and a 950 pro systems carb to feed it all. Now, only down side is the chunky *** 4L80. But, 80 had 3.73, 89 has 4.10.

Time will tell. Bout time I had something competitive running again.

I am excited to see this one run Zane.

So, I have had a noise in the back of my car for very long time. At first I only noticed it at part throttle when shifting from 1st to 2nd at part throttle. It sounded just like when you are playing pinball when the ball smacks the glass top.

I went through the suspension, body bolts, pretty much everything and could not find it. Took the rear seat out and all that and found nothing.

Then, after my last race, I started hearing squeaks from the back of the car. During a cruise the squeaks got so bad that it happened while just idling. So, I climbed in the back seat and started wiggling everything. I found that the back glass was not attached to the car any longer. The urethane had completely released. The stainless trim was the only thing keeping the window from falling out.

What is amazing to me is that I have made many 5 second passes with 60' times as fast as 1.29 and the glass never fell out.

WOW. I couldn't imagine that it would be easy to find NOS/used glass for it.
