Default First impressions...

New converter in, and yes, I know...FINALLY.
Just went for a run down the road with a buddy in the passenger seat.
HOLY HELL !!!
Just cruising at 3000 and go WOT, all hell breaks loose. Tach jumps about 2000-2300 and she digs in haulin' ***.
Just cruising it acts as normal as my old SBC combo with a 3000. Shifts are firm, not a lot of rpm needed just to get moving, just feels fine.

My buddy has been in my car before, and I got a kick out of him holding on, giggling like a little girl.
He wants an LS soooo bad now....

Can't say what the converter really did just yet....but feels real good so far.

I admit, Ive been lazy in the fact that I never posted a thread on my car build and what the results are. I guess I will soon, soon as I get all the pics off my old comp that recently crashed. But only reason I said that was because we both have 1st gens with similar setups except im running the stock cathedral heads and you went the rec port head route.

So far, my car has gone 10.61@127.7mph.
Cam is a freebie from a friend and was custom grind for his FI+nitrous setup 10 years ago from Futral. Only specs I have for it is .612/.630 lift 230/240@.050 lsa111. Everything else stock LQ9.

I had fully intended on making a thread atleast outlining my setup and results, just haven't gotten around to it. Mainly because of my home pc imploding and trying to keep my setup under wraps for local grudges but at this point, I can give **** about that anymore.

Its all good....just didn't see any numbers or whatnot.
Mid-10's would be great with me....been shooting for them since even before the motor was built.
Really hope I was wrong about the converter not being the issue and this is the answer....otherwise another expensive mistake

Time (pun intended) will tell.

I don't have a very optimal converter, it seems either. Only pulling mid 1.5 60s but car pulls like a raped ape on the hill. Although, I haven't opened up carb yet or played with my timing either. I went from 11.1 to 10.61 just playing with tire pressure, nothing else so.

Sounds like my 1200$ converter over the 500$ pile of crap, just hits the RPM way harder.

Well well, sounds like you have discovered the world of decent converters. Hopefully the change will show some nice track results.

Yet to be seen, but does feel better (not having 17% slip)

I think a few tenths will be lost...but sphincter pucker isn't seeing .5+ ET drop....Butt <pun intended> it hasn't been calibrated in last 6 months.
