yes. unfortunately it doesn't allow the transmission i just bought. and it would take way more resources than i'm able to afford to make all the changes to the car. i would be better off building another car now.

too little too late. i told them 3 years ago to allow it and they didn't listen. now i've moved on. i'm bummed, but not to the point i'm willing to revamp my entire program again.

All too common down here. Build a car for a class and then it changes once it is complete. Has people not caring and just giving up on any class racing.

any average guy building a car for a class will need a solid year to get it together. by the time he gets it done, the rules have changed 4 times. i'll stick with bracket racing for now.

Yeah I seen it didn't have your new trans in the list and thought you had already bought the new one. I can't believe they didnt offer manual trans to begin with it would've probably sparked alot more interest in the class. You'd probably smoke them all with a stick anyways lol.

well i would need to hault the gf5r build and have them put a g101a together. i'd also have to make a change in the clutch department

i'd have to sell the engine combo i have. which is probably a little more tired at this point than i'd like to see go out the door with my name attached to it so that means a refresh at minimum.

i'd have to put a different k-member back in the car, with provisions for engine mounts

new headers, new under car exhaust

then the big ticket $9K engine package...that will make less hp than my $5500 engine, lol. i'd also have to go over the car with a fine tooth comb to make sure the chassis itself fits the rules...

and i'm too light, lol. would have to add 400lbs.

overall, it's just more than i'm interested in doing at the moment.

How often do you refresh your engine Matt?

You weren't BSing. May as well build another chassis from scratch before messing with the current one.

Hopefully next year I'll dive in to the no prep street class. See how I can stack up. Down side is that you cannot have a coil over that is relocated from stock position. That scraps the ideas of a mini tub.

And, I am getting closer and closer to skipping a carb setup on the new chassis and go forced induction EFI. We will see. Hard to get headers and a carb ignition again just to yank all that off later.

So Matt, is there a time slot that me and the rest of your followers can expect the new trans in and expect some testing? March to maybe May I hope?

probably closer to may/june honestly. i'm considering taking the first half of the season off next year to take care of some personal things, as well as make sure the camaro is all it can be for drag week.

yes i agree. it always seems like guys stuff on the internet comes together way faster than your own, lol. while in reality it's no different in time. i'm hoping i'll have the trans in hand before the end of the year, but i have a lot of projects that need to get done not racecar related before i really focus on it again.

Well, with the holidays approaching, I am more than likely going to ease off parts purchases(large ones) for my projects. I assume you may have some reasons like that.

yes. i have a different bank account entirely for that stuff, lol, so thankfully these purchases don't often effect those types of events.

Awesome. My shop has been bringing in funds, but no toy money yet. Always buying more tools and what not for the shop, etc. Will OT off in time. Lol

Yes sir! I am really looking forward to one. Going to make a lot of fabrication much easier. I honestly don't like having to break out my torch, but it has its place and will still be used. Just like this wrangler I am LS swapping. I am able to lay the torch over to cut the mounts off nearly flush with the frame. I am not sure if the plasma will do a job like that.
