Default Predator Carb anyone try one?

I will most likely end up with a quickfuel, but thought it maybe interesting to possibly mess around with a predator that has been sitting around here for 20 years. I was just wondering if anyone has attempted to play with one of them with any success?

If you have one....why not try it.
You don't see them anymore. But there are better carbs out there.

About 30 years ago my uncle had one. LOL Not exactly first hand experience, but he said it had amazing throttle response and ran hard.

used to be pretty popular with the mud bog guys around me. 390cfm at idle 930cfm wide open variable venturi. Pretty cool carbs. The Predator trailor was up until a few years ago at a boat storage yard a few towns up from me. havent seen it in a while.

Was this their marketing BS from way back when or something? Go throw a 950 carb on a flow bench with the throttle blades closed, and post up your findings!

I used one once, worked great except it is so tall hard to fit an air cleaner in a car with limited hood clearance.

Predators are awesome. I had one on a L92 headed 6.0. Amazing throttle response. Zero hesitation. Best running carb ive ever used. Floor it at any speed or rpm and your on the rev limiter. Super simple to tune. Just a lean/rich screw and fuel cams swap.
