Stock LS1 Z28 1/8 mile and 1/4 mile times
What do stock LS1 Z28's run in the 1/8 and the 1/4? I'm just curious because I raced one at the 1/8th mile and lost. I drive a 2006 TBSS that's got bolt on's and tuning. My best is an 8.2 in the 1/8th mile. I run consistant 8.3's. This guy I raced said his was stock and he pulled me like I was standing still. I'm cutting 1.90 60 fts on MT Slicks. Everyone said he sprayed me, and I know he has nitrous no his car, but he said he didnt spray me. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

We were at the drag strip and no he didn't purge me before the race, but when I asked him to race he said "yeah, gimme 5 minutes". Then he parked his car on the other end of the parking lot and came back. Everyone there said he was spraying me. I was just curious if they are really 12 sec capable stock. And it was a manual 6 that I was racing. My truck is no slouch either. When I was running 8.4's, i was running 13.2's in the 1/4 a shitty 60 ft. Now I'm running .2 faster in the 1/8th and haven't been back to the 1/4. I'm pretty sure I can bust out a 12.8 next time I go. Here's a couple of vids from the 1/8th mile.

so your trying to say theres a .4 to .5 difference between a m6 and a4? HAHA! there very close with the mph advantage to the m6. With the little mods I have I ran a 13.0 @ 108 with 245 tires and 2.73 gears. But, its just another slow A4... To OP ALL LS1's are 13.0-13.5 @ 101-105 stock

In stock form, With out a tune, an M6 will do better in the 1/4 and mph faster as well. There have been many M6's in the 12's bone stock down to tires & paper air filter. Once you start modding them, the advantage goes to the A4 is what I am saying.
Your car is an 02 (which are stronger cars), and is modded and you have not hit the 12's.

I had a stock 01 SS that I took to 12.94@108 with spark knock and only 24 degrees of timing. It was an A4 with leather, t-tops, SLP ZR1s & Powerflo exhaust, lowered, 84K miles. First time I ever took it to track I was hoping for 13.8 cause I was getting spark knock and knew the car was heavy. It ran 13.08 I think. I then got a tuner(really good friend of mine) to turn the timing down a bit to try to relieve the knock, which it didn't but went back to track in search of 12s. Final run was....
60: 2.01
1/8: 8.3(I think)
1/8mph: 86.xx
1/4: 12.94
1/4mph: 108.13
This was on street tires in 50degree weather. I don't know what the DA or altitude was/is.

back when i bought my car i did alot of research and the fastest bone stock 99 camaro was by rapid motorsports that ran 13.3 COMPLETELY STOCK. the magazine articles tested these at 13.8 z28 and 13.5 SS (better exhaust &lid). i'm VERY skeptical a bone stock, no sticky tires, stock tune, stock exhaust could do it. (break into 12's) i dont even believe the moderator who posted.

When the LS1 Camaro first came out, GMHTP took one to the track. It was (of course) a '98 and had an M6. IIRC, they got it to run 13.0X 100% stock and 12.9X by throwing some tires on. Very easy to confirm/deny as it was the cover story of that issue. I'm lazy, but a 5 min or less search could probably turn it up.
Don't recall the DA, but conditions were favorable. It was at Englishtown IIRC.
My wife's former '00 Camaro A4 ran 13.25 at SAR with just an SLP lid and the EGR tube trimmed. Street tires with street air pressure, full weight, etc. etc. I ran it down the track just as she drove it to work and back every day. Weather conditions were OK, but not great.
