Uh no the SS cars did not come with square tips. At least not the LE's. They came factory with round tips standard or the CME or dual dual setup as an option.

So while I appreciate the fact you wanted to be smart and coy but look at the fact I have an SS NOT a Z before you tell me my tips were supposed to be square.

And if I am wrong I just made myself look that much more like a dumbass and I will accept that. LOL
An attitude like that is not gonna get you far on this site.

Anyways, I've heard of round tips but never CME coming stock.
Unless the previous owner said that they put them on there or there's a code or record of what came on it, those tips came stock, they look stainless or chrome(could be wrong), and the stock Z28's never had tips that shine like that.
But kudos for ditchin them, these cars look awful with those things.

Not meaning an attitude that's why I said if I am wrong then I made myself look like a bigger dumbass.

Ya I was meaning the round tips were stock for an SS. The CME and Dual/Dual setup were options from SLP which sadly my car did not come with new. ( wish it had cause I love the CME look)

But ya those were AM tips I just hate the square ones even on the Z. And they were stainless.

Prior owner had a K&N air filter installed - replaced it with Fram paper.

Lol, they're not.

Been sitting there doing nothing for about a week and a half.

Shop thinks I need a new GM set of cats to pass, and that might not even be enough. Thats going to be like $1000 at least, and when I put those on that completely screws the fact that I have true duals lol...so If I do go that route I'm gonna trade my setup for a Y and just restrict the holy hell out of it.

Thats IF I do that, I'm kinda just so annoyed with the car that I want to get a newer car (2000+) I've been looking around and found one TA with the same miles in my price range, but I'm also thinking about a Silverado, because it would be nice to get out of an F-body for a while I think (BLASPHEMY!)
But then of course, I would start modding it, and it would be comparably slow lol.

So I'm pretty much deadlocked.

I was just saying that there's been a rash of anti-K&N posts here and there and it seems like it started to happen after I posted my opinion on these filters in someone's thread. It's probably just my imagination...

Yeah, I really don't want to put those bad boys on the car lol.

I don't mind having cats, but I don't want those bricks sitting in the middle of my true duals lol.
