Purchase 1995 LT1 Camaro?

1995 LT1 or 2000 LS1 Camaro?
I am looking at a 1995 LT1 A4 Camaro convertible with 66k miles on the clock. The dealer is asking $11,900 for it but I am going to try and get it below $10,000. The car seems very clean, was traded in for a new truck.
Questions:
1) What is a fair price for the car?
2) I will be using this as a daily driver (mostly highway miles), and wondering how dependable the motor and car is? Will put about 16k miles a year on it and dont plan on modding it.
3)I found a 2000 camaro ls1 for about 12k with 65k miles. Would this be a better choice? I actually like the way the 1995 model looks but more concerned with reliability. Is LT1 just as reliable as LS1
--Thanks..

yeah the sound difference between an ls1 and lt1 is night and day different. Lt1's have alot more rumble while ls1's are raspy higher pitched, has to do with materials and fireing order. Have QTP LT's with off road y and borla and it gets pretty raspy down low. It sounds like a damn dragster at full throttle up top though. Lt1's just overall sound the best it's a known fact in f-bodies. Damn if you wanted an ls1 i was selling mine for 18,500 with TTII's and about 4 grand in mods along with fully optioned.

Afterall, everyone knows the LT1 > LS1 in the sound department!

I read it as 'priced high' too. Yeah, 12k for a 95 is HIGH. I paid just slightly more than that for my '98... Almost three years ago.
An 95 with 66k should probably be closer to $8k. Of course, dealer's tryin' to turn a fast buck. The longer it sits on the lot, the lower the price.

i paid 6000...high miles...but came with over 2000 grand in extras...as for "reliability" i think both are great...but ever car can have its day...my sis has more prob with her 02 ram air than I do with my 93 z...but every one is different.
