Did the usual prep for winter storage - oil change, filled the tank and added Stabil and gave it a full detail in and out. Took a couple of pics while out on the last drive for the season. Now the long wait for spring begins...

Below is what I did in detail lol, enjoyed the last sunny Saturday with a high of 70 degrees, and bad incoming weather storming in.

I'm located in Nebraska and the weather got real crappy real quick. She barley made it into storage in the nick of time. I bought my 1997 z28 back in December 2005 with 68,200 and now it has 75,587 on it.

Prior to storage I did the following:

Hand wash
Hand wax and buff
Interior all vacuumed
Carpet shampoo and all previous owner stains removed
All interior cleaned (windows, plastics, door jams, leather (conditioned) etc).

Had this professionally done for $85.00 this past Saturday.

A bit about the storage unit.

- 10ft wide, 9ft tall, 20ft deep
- 24 hour access
- Gated fence, security cameras, side manager, two looking system for the garage door.

**I got lucky my dad's friend owns this facility, these units this size run $115 per month, I was able to get it for $60 per month till the end of April. There were running a special with the first month free.

Things I did for prep of the unit

- Brushed out dirt
- Painters tarp for moisture
- 9ft x 12ft carpet under car
- 9 self adhesive LED push lights (no light in unit)
- Moth circles in the corners
- Dryer sheets in the corners of garage as well
- Decon food squares placed in each corner of the garage
- 2 damp rid containers in the car (center cup holder and then on the elevated section under the rear hatch)
- 2 dryers sheets in front, behind seat and in the rear bucket seat area of the inside of the car both driver and passenger side
- Seat cover on both the driver and passenger front seats.
- 3 "little trees" new car scent in the car.
- Let the battery slow charge for a few days and then high charged it before I took it to the detailer for a day (currently at 100% charge, will not removed from the car will just use the outlet on the outside of the garage door to run a battery charger to).
- All tires have max PSI of 44, I filled up all tires with 40 PSI.

All cleaned out!

Laying the tarp down

First tarp complete (9ft x 12ft)

Second tarp is laid down.

Taping down the second tarp

Both tarps are all laid down and secured with gorilla tape.

fresh from detailer!

Look at that shine! (strano front and back with bilsteins)

Stranos in the front!

Stored away without cover.

Best shine I've seen in a long long time!

No light no problem! 3 LED push lights per side. Carpet square taped to the support beam so the door can rest against it when open. Will do the same thing to the passenger side.

If LT1 came with those wheels factory, it would have been a smash. Salad shooter wheels are ugly

The chrome ten spokes are a great wheel, have done me well so far. The salad shooters might possibly be the worst rim for an OEM design ever.....

Vacuumed entire cars, including removal of rear seats to get under them
Detailed
Stabil in gas tank
Hooked to battery tender
Covered

Cut off the hideous ttol exhaust that was all welded together. It came with the hoss when I bought it. Built myself a set of duals to replace it with and coated them.

I had no option, the previous owner even spot welded the tips onto the muffler! From the muffler on back is still good, everything in front of that is probably done for.
