Default 2000 ss tires shocks and springs?

Just got this 2000 ss six speed about 5 to 6 weeks ago. It already has a lot of upgrades on it. SLP longtube headers and Y-PIPE with mufflers. SLP air filter. T-56 with stage 3 clutch and aluminum flywheel, BBK 85mm throttle body with BBK single induction intake. Sub frame connectors, LCA's and Billstein shocks. 12 bolt rear-end with adjustable torque arm. 265/40/r17's on front and 295/40/r17's in the back. I'm not going to be racing it or going to the strip a lot. I want to just have a nice ride to have fun with. The ride is to stiff for my taste. I know these cars won't ride like a caddy but I can feel every little bump in the road. I was thinking about getting some new tires with a little taller sidewalls maybe like 45 or 50's. I don't know about shocks or Springs. Just wanted a smoother ride that does not compromise handling too much. Your input will be appreciated thanks.

Based on what you've said, stock springs with an adjustable shock might be what you're looking for

I'd call the experts at BMR and Strano. They will get into all the finer details and get you into the right direction

Nice car!
From the pic it looks like you are still on the stock springs, if that is the case those will be the best for ride. Can you look at the springs and see if there are any markings on them to tell otherwise? What color are they? Flat black is stock.
And bilstien shocks(these should be light blue/yellow) are a decent shock for ride quality as well but there is no telling what kind of miles they really have on them or if they are worn out.
The sidewall you have now on the tires is around what these cars have stock (275/40/17 is stock) so I don't think that should be an issue.
Couple things you can do right away are lowering the tire pressure (recommended pressure is 30spi, for some reason guys like to bump it to 40psi and ride around on bowling ***** for tires)
What bushing is in the rear LCAs? Go look. A poly bushing can bind and cause harsh ride while a rod end bushings can clunk and make noises.
What kind of torque arm do you have, is it a full length one connected to the transmission tail shaft or a short chassis mounted one?
Check the front suspension for aftermarket poly bushings (will probably be red), and if thats the case those will not ride well. If they are black rubber then it should be stock.

Thanks guys, I'm going to check all that out this weekend.
I really appreciate your input. I've been wanting one since '98. Finally had the cash and bought this one. The price was right and guy already put everything on that I would have. So now I just need to make it mine. Thanks again.

After looking closers at my tires I noticed that I was wrong on the rear tire size. Feel kinda stupid for not noticing before. He put 295/35/r18 and 265/40/r17's on the front. Why the different rim sizes? Guess he tried to have it sit more level by putting 35's on rear and 40's on the front. Beats me. Ever heard of people doing that?

This is common when using different size wheels like corvette ones. Some vettes got those sizes or close from the factory.
The middle number is the aspect ratio, its a percentage of the first number. So a 275/40/17 is the exact same height as a 315/35/17 for example. A 315/40/17 would be taller than a 275/40/17.
If you get too far off our ABS system will act up as its programmed for even wheels/tire heights.

Thanks JD. When I put new tires on it was going to put 275/40/18 on the back and stay with the 265/40/17 on 5he front. I'm pretty sure that my speedometer is off right now. It says I'm going faster than I am. Does it go off the f4ont tires or the transmission?

Before doing that check what size wheels you have. Since they are C6 Z06 knockoffs I assume they are 17x9.5 and 18x10.5. I would do 275/40/17s on the front (which is stock SS/WS6 size) and 305/35/18s on the back. Doing 275s on a 10.5" wide wheels will have them stretched out and looking bad. If ride quality is really a concern then get some 17" wheels all around.
