I am now working on the passenger side of the car. I had some small filler work to do, then sand, sand, primer, sand... Finally have some of the color on the car, ran out of paint again and the cold set in for the next week or so.

I am also working on the bumper cover, I have sanded, primed and started the color. I need to double check the wet sanding and then wait for more paint/warmer weather.

I wouldn't have the guts to try painting my car, but more power to you.

Thanks, I am really just considering this a temporary solution so I can start driving the car. I dont want to drive it around with the bare primer and body filler, so I had to do something until it can get a real paint job.

Great work, I really like the dash. My first car was a black '93 Z with a white right front fender and a maroon door....brought back some memories!

Finally made some real progress over the weekend. I picked up more paint, shot the passenger side and rear bumper, cleared everything and put the rear of the car back together.

I also had the opportunity to put the hatch panels back in, nice to see the interior back together in one piece. I really like the stock appearence with nothing visible when the hatch is closed.

Installed the smoke park lamps front & rear, bled the rear brakes, greased up the rear suspension and buttoned up the exhaust tips. I need to bleed the front brakes and see if I can get this thing on the road.

Car back on the ground, front brakes bled, oil changed, fluids topped off and hoping to drive this thing by the weekend.

Interior almost done, I put the passenger side back together last night, need to take pics of that. I love the way the footwell lighting came out.

I took a break from the car for the last month or so, I did drive it apx 100 miles, but the last 50 or so was not good... The car would run for a few minutes (or less towards the end) and then shut off randomly... I assumed that it was due to the China fuel pump or Opti. I purchased a new Delphi fuel pump and fuel filter, installed those and no dice, car wouldnt run more than a minute or so and shut off. I pulled the Cardone Opti, rebuilt my stock Opti (50K) and put that back in. Same thing again, ran a bit longer yesterday and then shut off.

Time for some updates, I finally have my Photo Bucket back, so here we go.

I pulled the Cardone Opti (which was not the problem BTW) and installed my original Opti that I converted to a vented setup. So far everything has been well on that end.

Installed in the car, I hooked up the vent line to my new cast elbow and a Y connector at the intake manifold for vacuum.

I also decided to build my own cold air intake at this point. I will eventually change out the stock elbow for 3.5" pipe, but I need to delete the ABS first.

After I completed the Opti, CAI and some other small things, I pulled the car our for a good bath. I then pulled out the clay bar and went over most of the car, I needed to pull out the 20 years of contamination from the paint before I can do any correction (cut/buff/wax).

After some clay bar action.

After driving the car to work a few weeks ago, I figured out I had a pretty bad oil leak from the rear of the engine, so I need to figure that out. I also needed to adjust the front of the drivers window as it was not sealing completely and I was getting a horrible whistle at speed. I pulled the door panel off, adjusted the front travel limiter and finally got the window to seal properly. I also ended up making a small repair to the door panel, I had one tab pulling through the panel and needed to fix that. I ended up cutting some sheetmetal I had laying around to make the repair. Im hoping that it holds up for the long term.

I also decided to put on some cheap decals to see if I liked it.

Update: I still havent figured out the oil leak (havent been driving the car) and developed a noise under the car. Im pretty sure that the flexplate cracked at this point, sounds like a rattle/knock, goes away in gear and does not increase with engine RPM if reved in nuetral. I ordered an SFI flexplate, ARP fasteners, a new filter/gasket kit and some ATF. I am hoping that I can figure out the oil leak when I pull the trans as well.
