Default what to use to get rid of wheel hop?

I am experiencing horrible wheel hop in my 68 camaro. Its a monoleaf car, i think it has some drag shocks(from the previous owner) and I am considering some comp engineering slide-a-links.

what have you guys used?

What you are experiencing is the monoleaf acting like a wave allowing the rear to twist. I had a similar problem and solved it by switching to multileaf springs. A less expensive alternative may be to try to switch out the drag shocks for a quality replacement.

You need Traction bars. Check these out. These will help in all performance areas.

This will definitely solve your wheel-hop problems:
Cal-Tracs!!!!!!!!!

I have them on My 71' Nova with a 6-71 Blower and No Wheel-Hop!!!!!

I had them on My 73' Nova Race-Car that ran 11.3/116 w/1.50 60FT on 10" wide slicks and Had No Wheel-Hop Either!!!! Unfortnately I had to sell this car!!

They are awesome!!!!! Give them a Try!!!!

I have heard some good things about the cal tracs. But do your cars sport the mono leaf springs? I thought about going to a multi leaf but it doesnt seem right to me.

traction bars are out! --- well at least the old style ghetto ones are

The 71' Nova has Multi-leaf springs
The 73' Nova had Mono-leaf Springs

Cal-Tracs worked awesome on both!!!!

The one I posted are not ghetto bars, they are very similar to the Cal Tracs. The are Competition Engineering Slide-A-Links.

The Cal-Tracs work awesome. I have them on my '69 and I can roast the radial tires thru 3rd gear with 0 wheel hop. When it still had the stock (weak) engine, I could get wheelhop on the stock multi-leafs. Its gone now, even with much more power added.

Just swapping to multileaf will not help. If your monoleafs are in good condition you can put on a good traction bar and you will be happy. The cal-tracs and slide a links are very awesome. I had mono leafs on my 69 and I put in factory replacement multileafs and competition engineering traction bars and I am happy with how tight the rear feels, no hop at all. Some like monoleaf better though. I think multileaf springs are too firm. Im gonna pull out my bottom leaf to cush stuff up.

I haven't used them myself (haven't finished the install) but my understanding after talking to the engineers at Detroit Speed is that they don't require traction bars even with applications over 1,000 HP when they use their multi-leaf springs which are stiffer in the front than the rear:

Anyone who is using them care to comment?
