This is one of those instances that brings a phrase to mind: If you gotta ask how much it costs, then you probably can't afford it. If you can afford a Yenko , you probably aren't too worried about fuel economy.

I've asked how much before (knowing I can't afford it) just so I can figure out what credit card I have room on...

Usually fuel economy and performance didn't go in the same sentence in the 60s or 70s, unless one had "lack of" preceding it.

I'd say low-teens wouldn't be too out of line if you kept your right foot in check...especially if you left the ultra-enemic 68 jets in the primaries that came in the 780 Holley from the factory. My '98 SS woulda got crappy mileage had it not had an overdrive (or double overdrive since it's a T-56)...after I installed the 4.10s in my '98, I tried just cruising around in 4th one time, and it knocked my fuel mileage in the head.

When we had the 4.10s in our Yenko Camaro, we cruised the thing pretty regularly and for some good distances...55-60 wasn't too bad, and the mileage wasn't as crappy as you'd think. Especially considering the car was an automatic with power steering, and was a tad on the heavy side since it was a lower mileage original (from 3575-3600 pounds with under a 1/4 tank of fuel). When we put the 4.56s in it pretty much took care of a lot of the cruising, which was fine, because that has helped keep the miles down (it recently rolled over 30,000!). It seems to run pretty good with the 4.56s, though...

That's the truth on a lot more than just the 69 Yenko! My Nova with a 3400 stall convertor, 3.73 gears and 750 HP dp Holley carb still gets 13 mpg on the highway at 70 mph @ 3500 rpm, but I'd sure like to see what that'd go to with EFI and a T56

If you're jetting is close now, I doubt you'd see a big jump from just the EFI...but, that T56 is gonna help a TON!

BTW: how you like the HP carb? All of our stuff (so far) has required numbers matching stuff, but I've always wanted to try an HP or even a Demon and see what all the fuss is about...

We had a dyno tuned 650 dp standard with just the choke-flap removed running 11.40's on my Nova, and swapping to the 750 hp OUT OF THE BOX netted a full tenth better et with another .5 mph, plus 8 more rwhp. Some might stay steep $600 price tag, but the carb works IMHO.

If you have the money for a 69 Yenko I don't think gas prices are a major concern for you. That's my dream car, hopefully I can own one someday... but unless the lottery numbers go in my favor I doubt it.
