Its on the back side IIRC. Tough to get see. I think you can see it if you get up under the car and look at the back of the block from the tranny tunnel.

Do you know if you car was an early 01 or later 01 car? Meaning was it built towards the end of production cycle? If so you have a greater chance IIRC...

off the top of my head it was a 10% chance in 01 and a 25% chance in 02 for the F-Bodys

100% of 2001 and 2002 were LS6 blocks.
Blocks appear different because of 2 manufacturing locations, but they're all LS6 blocks.

Then Scott is wrong

My experience working on a more than a couple '01 cars has proven that wrong. Won't even bring up my own '01 car

Only real proof is to check the block in your car.

I do believe that quite a few 01-02 f-bods have had their engines torn down. Since the blocks are physically different internally I'm sure people have seen ls1 blocks in those cars. I wouldn't doubt anyone that has seen physical proof.

Well, my '02 is rare then, as it has an LS1 block.

I know the thread you're talking about. It's actually the "SLP Involvment" thread. A couple people disagreed and mentioned more or less what WILWAXU is saying, but Scott hasn't made another comment on the issue.

Yeah, Scott has posted several times, and said it at the BG F-Body meets, that they're all LS6 blocks.

Maybe I'm silly, but I'll go ahead and agree with the guy who helped build the cars.

One more thing though, maybe there were some build-out LS1 blocks yet early in MY2001. Like I said, I'm not sure, call that a guess.
Would've had to have been very early though because my 2001 was built in August 2000, and it's an LS6 block.
