Yeah I'm sure you can, but I think you need a rear end that has it. You can probably find one in a junkyard. Aside from that, there's the obvious switch and wiring. Possibly some other things as well (computer, etc), but I'm thinking the rear end assembly is the main part.

actually its a valid question...

Why go through the trouble of adding it to your car?

It offers no performance increase, its detrimental to driving skill (opinion), on top of the hassle of reworking your whole throttle cable setup (3 cables, and some ASR box hooked to your throttlebody and gas pedal).

I'm not a fan of systems that take from driver skill.

ABS, ASR (any systems like it) make drivers complacent these days. You see stunt drivers doing stuff on TV and you're like wow.. I can't do that... but back before those systems existed, it was called defensive driving...

Its great in poor weather.
It'll be a ton of work to do, swapping rear ends throttle cable setup as mentioned. I would asume instead of adding it easier would be trading your car with someone whos got ASR.

ASR/TCS is a lifesaver in a daily driven car. driving a rear-wheel drive V8 car with around 350 HP in the rain sucks ***. even if i start moving in 2nd instead of 1st, there are times where the tires will break loose. sure, i can control it if i wanted to, but if i'm just doing a mundane ride to the grocery store, i'd rather let ASR do its thing and not worry about it.

uhm, if you need ASR to drive a 350 rwhp car, even in the rain/snow or whatever....you probably shouldnt be driving...it definately isnt that hard.

and the cost of adding ASR to a non-ASR car wouldnt be worth it, IMO.

Have you ever driven in an LS1 car in the snow? I had to move mine around last week, which forced me to take it a whopping 10 feet out of the garage. The garage has a hill outside of it, and the ground was covered with snow/ice. Took me almost 20 minutes+the help of my dad+a whole lot of sand to get it back in. Driving a stock SS in snow is no easy task. I will admit that I had to turn the ASR off to get it back in, and that driving it in the rain w/ ASR is nice, but certainely not necissary. I also I agree that it seems like more trouble than it's worth, but still saying if you can't drive a 350hp RWD car in the snow then you shouldn't be driving sounds a little harsh.

well you also have an A4. i also drove in the snow last night b/c it snowed in the middle of the movie i saw at the theatre. so i had no choice. it was alot of snow, but i could feel the car sliding a little bit, so what did i do? slow down, and drive carefully. this morning when i woke up, the snow melted a little and turned to ice. i have no ASR, so what did i do? not sit there and wish i had ASR, i just drove like a grandma and took it easy.

you dont need traction control to be able to control your car, you need common sense.

I didn't say I needed it, I just said that it makes things ten times easier to deal with. I can control the car fine, but sometimes I'd rather listen to some tunes and enjoy the drive than worry about the extra concentration involved in driving in the rain.

theres not reason to be mad @ me, just b/c you cant handle your car and need a computer to help you drive.

I think you should go back to 6th grade reading comprehension before you post from now on. This is what I said in my post that you originally reponded to (post #10):

"sure, i can control it if i wanted to, but if i'm just doing a mundane ride to the grocery store, i'd rather let ASR do its thing and not worry about it."

Somehow you interpreted that as me saying "I can't control my car without ASR". I didn't say I was mad at you either- I was just clarifying my previous statement.
