my brother has a 98 z28 vert with a white top... i'm doing some stuff for him... ss hood/spoiler, manta stripe, berger panel, wheels, black top... and i'll take some pics when it's done. the color is definately awesome. i think it'll look sweet as hell with the ss hood.

That gray/purple color was only on 93-94 cars. It's more common than the 97-98 BPM cars I believe. I can't think of the name of the other color right now. I almost bought one back in about 98.

my gf was saying the car would look real nice with a SS hood.
i was thinking about it. what i would probably do is keep the oem hood and use the SS one until i decide to sell it.
purple is an odd color for a car...

Don't you DARE repaint that car! I'd love to have one after seeing one in person last year. If you don't like it why'd you buy it? I purposely painted my 86 S10 GM Radar purple. That's another sweet GM purple color.

i got it in sacramento, CA. i live in orange county fullerton CA but i was in sacramento visiting family. I drove my eclipse gst up there and i ended up selling it. I got lucky and found the purple z28 for sale. I talked the guy down from $8900 to $6800. It has 87000 miles, i think its a good price.
but i do like the color. i'll keep it. i want a different hood for the car though, know of any good ones?

You suck! $6800 for it with only 87K?!?!? I can't even find a 98+ V6 around here for that kind of money and those miles! Personally I'd put a cowl hood on it or a VFN/Sonoco style hood. Everybody puts SS hods on Z's. Not a whole lot do cowl hoods, least around me.

purple 98 z/28 m6, 96.5k miles on it, no reserve
no bids on it so far, 7.5k 17 hours left, has buy it now set at 9.5k

looks like a pretty good deal, from how he describes it, sat on dealers lot for 2 or 3 years. had tranny and rear end rebuilt last year, would guess its alot of highway miles with 97k in just over 6 years. looks like a hell of a deal
edit: on second look, is that even the same colour?
