I own both. A 3rd gen is a great starter car for those with not a lot of bucks to spend. Cheap and plentiful ,they are easy to mod and make a decent ride. You'll see more of these carsgetting modded as they are still affordable unlike 1st& 2nd gens.4th gens are going down in price , and the LT1 cars are reasonable. Finding low mileage , non abused ones isn't that easy and expect to pay a premium if you do.

I like the 4th Gen better, but I don't dislike the 3rds. I wouldn't mind having a vert I-roc. I use to have a 86 TA, and next to my 01 SS, it was the funnest car to drive that I've had.

Hmmm.....I like the look of the third gen better, but I love the LS1's power. I don't really know which to vote for. I'll think about it and vote later.

EDIT:Call me crazy, but I will vote for looks.

I like the 4th Gen better. But I do like third Gens. I wouldn't mind having a 3rd Gen as my track car.

Properly done up I think a thirdgen looks better, especially a nice 91-92 Z28. They just have better lines and proportions.

But drivetrain wise the 4thgen dominates, as it should being newer. And they're not exactly ugly so I guess I'd have to say overall the 4thgen is better.

Dynamically and in every other respect a 4th gen, espcially 98+ is far superior. However I do actually prefer the look of a clean 3rd gen (so long as it doesn't have a gross body kit).

But what does this pove??

Very little, as dynamically a 3rd gen is far superior to a 2nd gen.

And it's pretty safe to assume any forthcoming 5th gen will be dynamically better than the 4th gens. Although I personally don't think much of the concept cars looks. Also new legislation means it will likely be porkier and more detached.

So in many ways the 4th gen may be the ultimate Fbody.

Third Gens are good cars, but 3rd and 4th gen owners seem to dislike each oter cars prety much, thats what fuels it kinda. The 4th gens guys dont have much love for the rd gen and it goes the same way with the 3rd gens guys not liking 4th gens.

Trying to bring the two generations together. I like all the generations, but the thirdgen is my favorite.
