yeah, cloth was alailable as well, when i was at the dealer looking for leftover 2001 SS, we found 2 with leather and 1 with cloth, i got one of the leather ones.
you can also call SLP with the VIN and they can tell you the SS build number.

i've got a 99HOSS, had it from day one. it has the y2y(RPO) option ,but slp told me it was a base model SS. i ORDERED it with cloth interior. all it came with is the hood and spoiler. and 11 miles on the clock. i did order it with slp options but the dealer FUCKED my order up!! it was to irresistable to refuse, so i bought it as is.

All SS with the RPO code WU8 are real SS, wether they are SLP SS or GM SS depends on if they also have the Y2Y code. During some years (1998-2001*) vehicle that had SLP Options added as well, had the Y2Y code. Otherwise they only had the WU8 code. My 2001 Camaro SS is a GM SS, it has the WU8 code but no Y2Y code ... so it recieved no SLP extra Options. GM makes the SS and installed the 17" wheels and a temp hood and spoiler, but SLP added the SS hood and spoiler.
If your SS has the Y2Y code on the driver side door panel sticker, look on the passenger's side door for another sticker. It will be the SLP Options installed on the vehicle.
*In 2002 to avoid having cars not being properly optioned, which was the case amny times with SLP Options, GM mandated that all WU8 optioned Camaros have the Y2Y code as well.

In regards to a few other posts, on my window sticker the car is listed as a Camaro Z28...then under the GM option list is the $3,500 "SS Performance and Appearance Package".
Great thread full of great info!

When I bought my 2000 SS there were no stickers on the car from SLP, I looked for the WU8 code, and the PBT code, then called SLP... SLP will confirm and give you the Build number for that year as well.
Mines a cloth interior, hard top. I did weigh 3520# before the addition of; trans am leather interior, suspension, sub frames, Moser 9" and LQ9 pushed it up to 3720#
