So what do you need to know? Does he have them, or know where to get them? I had a pair from RKSport on my 97, and if was a fairly straight forward install. The is a stud on the driver' s side that holds the exhaust manifold on, that will have to be removed. The easiest way to not screw up the stud, in case it' s ever re-used, is to put two nuts on the stud, tighten the outer nut against the inner, then use the inner nut to unscrew the stud from the block. Other than that, a grinder may come in handy. There is a piece of heat shield that I had to remove on the driver' s side, and didn' t have a wrench thin enough to fit between in and the subframe, so I FUBARed it. The header flange (where it meets the Y-pipe) on the driver' s side also rubbed slightly on the K-member, a little grinding will fix that.

What does he have planned for the rest of the exhaust? I recommend a high-flow cat, and possibly the adjustable Borla cat-back. No point in headers if you' re not changing the rest of the system. The high-flow cat is needed for the back pressure required by the V6, and don' t even bother with a Flowmaster muffler. If you' re going through all that trouble, make sure the muffler is one that will actually flow at a decent rate.

Hope this helps!

V-6's are stupidly easy to do headers on.. exhaust is even easier..

I did headers and exhaust on mine in like two hours that was with a lift with me and another guy.. we were bullshitting most of the time so it should have been a little quicker..

Mangaflow is the only exhaust I would suggest for a V-6

eh, the heat shields are a bitch keep a box of bandaids handy, those things r sharp.
just a little advice, once u get the shields unbolted, get a piece of pipe and a hammer and wack em out the bottom itll save a lot of headaches from them getting hung up on ****

for exhaust, Magnaflow is good, but there are many other decent choices other than Magnaflow. The Rumbler is pretty popular over at Fullthrottlev6.com.

Hmmm, I never heard the Magnaflow on a V6. I had the non-adjustable Borla, and always wish I' d spent the extra money. Knew a couple people with the adjustable, and it sounded much better.
