Exclamation Need Help

i got my 396 bored over 60.how many cubic inches does it have now.i thought like 415cubic inches but i need to know.thanks

It's a 406..... Same bore as a .030 over 400 SB with the same stroke.

Provided you're using the 396 crank (3.76" stroke) then yes, it's a 406 cid big block.

BTW: Mr Dragster's formula is correct if you wish to check for yourself.

A 415 cid engine with a 3.76" stroke would require a bore of around 4.188"

ok thanks.406 cubic inches.what hp will i make.i have roller rocks,roller cam,aftermarket pistons,alot of comp cam parts.hooker headers.3 inch exhaust.more but just cant remember

That's why I didn't touch this one. Too many missing variables.

Besides what mrdragester sez (I & E flow @ lift and duration), I think we can safely pin it down to somewhere between 300 and 1,000 depending on compression and how well (or if) you blueprint the engine. At a minimum you're probably looking at 1hp per cid (at the crank) as that is way easy to hit even if you just slap it together.

i will find that out but im not making over 650hp n not less then 400hp.

my vote would be 300-550 as I said depending on heads (stock-killer), Cam (roller-not), carb (stock-optimal), exhaust (manifold-headers), intake (stock-optimal) ect ect
