I'd just leave it how it is, it's still sweet
yeah it's sweet but it's not the real deal plus i have always liked the cowl hood. and there will be no emblems now, i'm getting the taillight bezel painted flat black like the Berger and with the cowl hood some regular black racing stripes like 99kamarokid has. and the drop it about an inch

Alright, give us pics of your car when you bought it (stock)... Does it have the correct (newer) rims, does it have a two piece (not a one-piece aftermarket) spoiler, does it have an OEM SS hood, does it have a non-z28 and non-aftermarket exhaust???
Maybe it is a real SS... The Special Edition forums guys would be better at helping you figure it out...

there are is no WU8 code anywhere on that car and slp has no record of the VIN # the hood and spoiler are real SS stuff though and the exhaust was on it when i bought it also had chrome Z-06 wheels which i traded for 10 spoke SS wheels. i would have never known if i hadn't called SLP. i'm keeping the spoiler and the wheels i already got a cowl hood lined up

Did you check the RPO codes on the driver side door? That is where you will find the WU8 code.
Not all SS's went to SLP.
The passenger side door will have an SLP sticker listing SLP options if it went to SLP. If there is no passenger side sticker, it just means that it had no SLP options.
I would leave it alone.

sorry to say it, but this is a good reason why you should always run a carfax on cars before buying it. it will say in there whether its a z28 or ss.
when i bought mine it had SS badges, but no hood or spoiler. lol that would be funny if it turned out mine was converted to z28. lol
