This just in...the guy with the fake SS goes to a car show and gets best in class, 93-02 camaro... so maybe being a faker is not so bad after all. I won all all kinds of free stuff a dyno run, 2 tickets to dirt track, to watch them crash into each other and some good wheel cleaner. plus the car looks so nice i don't even want to drive it now.

Sucks, man.

Still, it ain't the car's fault. Do like you said and take the fake badges off and put a cowl hood on it. Then, it's even better than before.

Ditto, but also include fake Z06 badges on Vettes.

Any updates?

I know how you might feel being that you say you are friends with the dealer but in this case,I think you are really owed some money here. And being that they are friends they should be even MORE willing to help you out by correcting this ASAP.

I looked at Kelly Blue Book and ran the value on my car first as a Z28 and then as an SS.There was about a $2000 difference!!!!Thats ALOT of fun stuff for your Z28!!

You seem like a guy who like myself doesn't like to stir up problems or make a fuss over little things BUT!This is NOT just a scratch or a incorrect tire man...They gotta do something for you in my opinion.

I know you sound very happy with your car (Z28s are awesome!) but thats is a HUGE difference in value.

In the end it is your choice but if it were me,I would get something out of them....Thats alot of GAS MONEY!!!!!

Good luck!

Its called Fraud in the Inducement

and I believe is a violation of Vernon civil statutes,
If they are guilty of doing this as a business practice,
Under the the TEXAS DECEPTIVE TRADE PRACTICES ACT
They can be liable for up to 3 times the damages incurred.
but of course you would have to prove its a regular, conscious business practice, like someone knew it was not a real SS, and said we are going to sell it as one anyway!

One thing you can do that will put em on their toes, it threaten to, or actually,
file a complain with the State Attorney General's office, in their consumer division, while they are not there to litigate your specific case, only cases where businesses are out harming the public and citizens of the state as a whole, or group, They will launch an investigation and send a nice little letter to the dealership that in my past experience gets things moving in your favor extremely quickly. If an investigator from the state attorney general's office shows up at their business, you bet they will hop skip and run to make things right with you.

In court you could argue that your damages are the $2,000-$3,500
difference in price at the time of purchase plus the interest from that time till now, using something conservative like the Risk Free Interest Rate of a US Treasury Certificate.

I would go ape on them and pull out all the guns.
Start pushing the dealership owner around, then let em off easy and tell em you will settle it all for $1500-$2000. They should know what they are selling, its their obligation.

They will probably use some stupid argument, like what if it was reversed and we didn't know what we were selling and you got a better deal than you should have, would you be in here complaining? not a legitimate agrument.

Go Get Em!

This is independent of your relationship with your friend who works there,
you should still be able to go fishing, and just not talk about it.

well now my buddy doesn't work there anymore so i don't give a damn about the dealership. if you live anywhere around fort hood texas do not go to killeen auto sales. one of the salespeople there said that it has been too long for them (the dealer) to do anything. i told him i'll just go tell anyone i see there not to buy from them because they will rip you off. just as i said it a couple came up to look at a car and i told them that would get ripped off if they try to buy a car there. he told he could have me arrested and i said "f&&k you you stupid f$#king hick." then i left. so when i get back next weekend i will call and get the ball rollin a little better. more to come thanks for all your help everyone

Nobody is saying theres anything wrong with a Z. What is being said is the man paid for an SS which has already been made clear has more value so therefore he had to pay more to get it. Its the $$$ that matters

Have you perhaps considered an open letter to the dealership in the local paper? Publicity like that will definately get their attention.
