Man the same thing happend to me when I bought my first Camaro. I bought it at a big time chevy dealer in my home town. It looked like an SS with the hood spoiler and wheels, but what threw me off was that it had cloth interior and it had camaro SS embroidered into the headrests. The dealer window sticker said it was a 98 camaro SS. I didnt know it wasnt an ss until I got on this site and found out how to find the build number. I called SLP and they said "nope, not in the system, probably not a real SS."

sorry to hear that bro... i would feel like a faker also .thats the reason i havent put an ss hood on my car. so i am gonna go with the ultra Z hood instead. take his a$$ to court.

Agree - pursue this legally. There is an average $2,000 difference between a Z28 an an SS. That's a nice amount of coin that you got sleighted out of. Let us know when you're refunded the money you deserve!

If you are unsure as to wether you have a real SS,just look at the RPO codes on your door for WU8.If you have it,you have an SS.If not,then you have a Z28 that looks like an SS.
