Which were the LT4 cars? 96 or 97? Were they not quite limited in production numbers?

As for having the intake manifold ported, that's not true. There's an old saying that I love : "If I would get a nickle everytime someone said I had an ss I would be filthy rich by now". Not everything people say is true, the motor in 96 received no modifications what so ever on the SS cars, as a matter of fact the only mod under the hood is the ram air induction.
I wish I could send you all the info about the 96 SSs, I have it all in papers that I collected during all these years and I pretty much know and can answer everything you need about a 96 Camaro SS.
2410 were made, 2263 are in the U.S the rest 147 are in Canada. the total in 1997 was 3038 including 957 30th anniversary cars. I just can't stop talking about all this so let me know if you have any question and I'll give you the true right difinate answer, not what people hear.
I have car # 1335 its a convertable. Tan top an interior with gold SS emblems. How many were made convertable an in that color combination?

I can see tou you know your 96 SS info. I recently purchased one and have some questions. It’s VIN is 2G1FP22P9T2144718. Order # is 1199XV. Model # 1FP87. If possible could you give me a brief rundown on the components the car has (rear axle and type of oil it requires, things to replace and with which companies products (such as shocks, springs etc - it has 60,000 miles) and any other nuggets of info. I don’t know much about these cars. Thanks for your help.

The easy method to give folks a background is type in a standard Google search window "brangeta 1996 camaro ss"...the first thing that shows up should be a Google website titled "Production Version Camaros - 1996 and 1997 Camaro SS". Open that up and give it a good read then come back with any questions.

As far as what your specific car has there should be an SLP sticker on the passenger side door that lists the components that your car was optioned with from SLP.
