Default Need help with 69 Camaro Value

I need alittle help putting a dollar value on this car I want to buy. It is a X44 code car. It has a non running big block in it. It is missing all the accessories, carb and dist. The engine was recently painted. The body appears very straight with no rust. It has a 70's interior with crush velvet and **** carpet. The floors are good as are the frame rails. It has SS emblems and hood. No rear spoiler. Dash, gauges and console are good. The car needs restoration but could be a decent driver with alittle work. What is it worth?

Go here and ask your questions, they are going to ask for the VIN number, the cowl tag info and some other stuff also. That car is badged as an SS, is it a true SS? www.camaros.net

Not a true SS. X44 is base V8 coupe. I do have the VIN, but what can that tell me? Tail lights are good. Car is auto, but I dont know if its 350 or 400.

The VIN number and cowl tag info will tell you how the car was originally built at the factory then with some research you can tell what it has on it now and then you can go from there. A 69 roller will bring 6K or better depending on the cars condition, paint and amount of required body work. Look under it real good, look in the trunk under the mat if it has one, look in the engine bay to check for general condition. Just a paint job will cost close to 5K alone. What kind of condition is the interior in? Even the small parts for a 69 can add up in a hurry so the less you have to replace the better off you are. These cars are almost 40 Y/O and require quite a bit of attention, are you mechanically inclined? Here's a pic of my 69,

Nice car! You could say I am mechanically inclined. Been around cars and bikes all my life. I'm not looking to work on the car anytime soon, I have to finish my 79Z first. I just always wanted a 69. This one is a bank repo so I have no info on it. Have to have a bid in by Wed. Heres acouple more pics.

Go back to the lot with a pen magnet. If you get a strong pull all over the car give the man cash and run! And once you do have and want to restore it give us a holler at camaros.net.

Well the RS had back up lights in the lower valance panel if that's what you are refering to. That car doesn't have RS headlights, don't think it was originally an RS.

I wouldn't use a pen magnet, might **** the owner off. Use a refrigerator magnet in a sandwhich baggie, no scratches. The 1st gen Camaros are prone to corrosion in several areas. I would look at the sub frames, rocker panels, toe panels, floor pans, trunk pan, rear quarter panels(real closely), shock towers.

Wish the pic of the cowl tag was clearer. Depending on the condition of the areas I listed above i would bid $5K, $7.5K at the most because that car is going to need a full restoration. Please do yourself a favor and go to the Team Camaro website(www.camaros.net) register and then go to the "What's it worth forum", post your pics and ask the experts, they can get you real close to an approximate value.

With it being an X44 code car and originally LeMans Blue with matching dark blue interior. Not being able to see the console, but it would be "more-than-likely" a Power Glide or TH350 tranny, 10-bolt and drum brakes all around, I wouldn't have bid anymore than that. That's not a car with desirable options. Thats basically a cheap '69 Camaro and for someone to pay more than $7500, either a clone is being made, or they're doing a custom job. Honestly, you'll have to invest more money restoring it than what the final product will be worth, if you go the stock-original way.
