I've been searching and so far i've only seen E36 & E46(3 series) swaps

But I want to run one in a 94-01 7 Series

I've heard of them staying within BMW, swapping the 540 Motor & Trans, even the M5 Motor out of an E39

Anyone?

I want to do the same to my '94 740IL since the tranny is toast. The bottom has fell out on these cars and even '98 models with 80K on them are going for $4,000.00 to $5,000.00 ! I can swap a 5.3 or a 6.0 for the $1700 they want to rebuild my tranny .

Black 740IL with a set of nice 10 spoke mags or BBs wheels with a 6.0 LSX would be so cool...

I was thinking when I go Big Cubes with the GOAT, I could swap the Stock LS2 in a 7 or the Shop next to my Buddy's, just swaps motors out even though it might be a $50 fix, and I see some LQ4 & 9's just waiting to be scrapped. Might pick one of those up & punch it out to make a 408

Has anybody swapsed a LSx into a 04(ish) 330XI? I seens a real clean one near me for sale. It would be a sleeper if you could swap in a 427 LSx and retain the AWD

anything is possible withe nough time and moeny but im sure it could be done without to much of a headache. I doubt you could keep AWD or at least keep it and not break it

e38 or e39 would fit easy and fine. I've seen one e39 swapped sbc or ls motor (can't remember). The 540 motor is pretty damn wide! awd 3 series would be difficult as you're space limited.
