I use HP tuners. there is seperate tables for DBW cars, and you can turn it all off with a tune.

theres a bunch of ETC tables including
ETC TPS max vs rpm vs TQ table,
ETC injector disable table that will cut cylinders
ETC "Power Hop" that will cut power in large tq changes

theres ETC RPM limiter for max RPM too, but your not hitting that. If you do, it wont "bounce" off the rev limit, it will just cut off and pause before resuming.

I'm not sure if disabling the brake switch will do anything, as the PCM still sees the tq transients. i cant remember off the top of my head whether there's an actual brake tq limiter or not.

when I sent it to waitformeperformance for the tune I told them to turn off the torque management but I dont think they did. This car will not even spin form a stop without using the brakes either. I work with a guy that has efi live and I am going to see if he will come over and check to see if it is still turned on. He said he cant program it but he can look at it. He only programs his diesels.

I am tuning a 2003 Tahoe with my efi live software and was wondering if anyone knows how to turn off torque management on there? I tune my diesel with it all the time but this is the first time I've messed with a gasser.

it may be called active power management. its as simple as going in, finding the source file and deleting it, and seeing if its absence causes any other hiccups. this is also an issue in my 2008 sts-v but I really dont care.

Would it be under engine calibrations or transmission calibrations?

I don't have torque control. I have Torque Limiting table but its not the same as yours. also have Traction Control.

Came across this thread and since I didn't see the full answer posted, I figured I'd post up. Yes, it's old, but relevant and came up as top search result in Google.
Using HP Tuners: Under "System">General>System Options, Under Brake TqMgt, and your platform, it must = zero. If you don't know which is your platform, look it up just above the system options button or make sure they're all set to 0.

This is not under the transmission or engine tabs, not in any torque management tables. You can zero out and turn off everything else, even set injector ETC torque management vs. mode all to 255 and it won't solve it.

Hope this helps someone. I forgot about it and had to call a friend. Drove me crazy until then.
