Default 70 chevelle TH400 dipstick

I want to know if anyone has had any success with a particular dipstick when using a TH400 in their ls build on a A-body 67-72 should be the same i would think. I have heard some horror stories when using the flexible lokar flexible ones when filling among other issues. Has anyone had any success with them? Also I hear any repo ones will not fit and instructions call for you to BEND IT to make it fit! Let me know what you have found to work.

thanks

I am about to find out. I am going to try the factory dipstick when I install a 6L80 in my 1965 Buick Skylark. When searching for the part number it appears that the 4L80 and 6L80 use the same transmission dipstick.

Thanks for the replay but I am using a Turbo 400 or TH400 transmission, the old school kind. I dont know if this information would prove useful. thanks though.

no horror stories with my lockable lokar dip stick. TH400.

before the 400 I had an 80e in the car. Stock dip stick tube worked, but HAS to be installed before the trans is in the car. Atleast on my setup.

I have used the flexible lokar cable as well and had no problems.

Actually like the black one more. I hate too much chrome. Thanks a bunch guys. If anyone has any other ones that work please post as this is a issue with a ls swap in a bodies . T have found a couple different forum while searching on google with the same issue. I saw one option was to cut the bent section out and replace it with 3/4 inch heater hose.

Do you know if the 4L80E and TH400 dipsticks are the same?

I have a Lokar flexible for a 4L80E sitting around collecting dust. If you are interested, PM me and I'll make you a great deal.
