Default What did you use fuse block/relays

I like what they list on lt1swap, but needing to buy all the parts from different places really adds up on shipping and I can not get the parts from one place.

So, I am trying to pick them up at one, or maybe two places, so what have you guys done, or did you just order from all the places to piece it together?

Buy the relays and sockets from the link in LT1swap.com. Only place Ive found them

www.mouser.com is a good source for the rest

Fuseblock 829-12004943
Terminals:
4 x strip 10-12ga 829-12004568 Use side cutters to trim singles off
1x 18-20ga 829-12020334

I could not find the 1,2,3 terminal strips

A single fuseblock should set you back around $30 in parts

I ordered them from the places listed on LT1swap.com. Shipping wasn't that bad and I ordered double what I need because it still didn't add up to very much $$, and I like to have extras for when I screw something up.

Here is the fuse block I'm using in my mustang to run the body wiring:
http://www.wiringproducts.com/contents/en-us/p349.html

I like this one bc of it's common feed wire. So you just run 12 volts to it and the whole fuse block is fed.

I used a 2008 Impala fuse box to control the truck harness running my Corvette motor and truck trans (4L80E) with F-Body accessories. It was a lot of work, but I am very happy with the result. It looks like a first-class job.

You could always water it down and just use the truck relay/fuse box... I would have done that, but the big fuse box assembly wouldn't fit under my hood, so I had to get a smaller fuse box, which lead me to the Impala. It has all the circuits you need to run your V8 (because the Impala also comes in a 5.3L V8) and with a little work on the schematics, you can link the two together.

I saved the wires that control the headlights, windshield washers, horns, etc. The Jaguar electrical stuff is shaky at best, and I am going to switch them over to the GM fuse box after I get everything else wrapped up.

I used the 99 f body underhood harness from my parts car. Has all the factory relays and fuse terminals to power everything you need. If you are getting a junk yard engine with the engine harness, see if they'll give you the underhood harness to go with it.

Any common mid-late 90's GM FWD car should be sufficient to run the LSx. THe tiny aftermarket fuseblock above just gives more flexibility for minimal additional cost

Most JYs charge $20-40 for a used fuseblock when you can build a brand new one for about that much

I have found that AUTOZONE can order you the fuse block, with terminals for $5.00 part# is 85668. This is a Dorman part. From rockauto.com its less then $3.00.

Good choice... looks like it's easy to mount, and sealed on the top and the bottom. Just make sure it has all the circuits you need!

In keeping with my budget Thunderbird theme, I simply added a few fuses to my factory box on open terminals. My car had enough open spots under hood that weren't being used.

If you use the factory engine bay harness depending on what you have you can strip the ABS and Torque management out of it then use the factory harness to the engine bay harness to tie into the original harness. You do that and you will have a much stronger system not to mention relayed lights, etc. I am using a complete 4th gen harness in my first gen. Each harness -engine, engine bay, and body harness were stripped one at a time. The harness was then adapted to the original car where needed. All gauges, lights, etc work. This includes the BCM so I have a remote. I am going to put in solenoids for power door locks so I can use the remote for something other than a factory alarm. From the outside you cannot tell that it is not an original car.

Lt1swap.com is Busta9876's website. He has alot of pics on there on how to wire up the fuse block.
