lsx fox connecting fuel lines to fuel rails
im asking these questions straight out for future reference to anyone who wants to do this swap on a budget.
1988 mustang completely stock fuel system.
motor is a 5.3 truck motor with truck intake manifold.
stock fuel lines on the car is a feed and return. the truck intake mani set up is a feed and return see pic below:
ive done some research and everyone runs a corvette fuel filter/regulator which is a 2 into 1 system. one of my questions are why?
most builds ive read up on use an fittings from tank to filter/reg then to mani, my budget doesnt allow for that right now.
my mani has a return line and regulator on the feed line already, so why cant I find a way to attatch the stock fuel lines to my manifold. someone told me about a quick release adapter that has threads on the other end that fits onto the stock truck manifold fuel lines, anyone know what im talking about?
here are pics of my stock lines, it goes from soft line to hard line.
stock feed line:
stock return line:
so with having a reg on the fuel rail can I utalize the stock mustang fuel filter with just a bigger fuel pump? and how can I attatch the stock lines to my manifold.
please help me out here and im sure this will be useful to others who take on this problem in the future. thanks

Many people use the vette regulator because the f-body and most vette LS1`s dont have the dual feed/return rail.
I would reuse your fuel lines since you already have them. I would use a couple of the dorman quick connect repair kits. IIRC they will have a quick connect fitting on approx 18" of nylon flexible line. You can cut off the end of the ford hardline and use a compression fitting to put the dorman repair line on.

Here is to adapt the mustang lines to AN http://www.jegs.com/p/Russell/Russel...52516/10002/-1
And here are the fittings to adapt the truck intake to AN http://www.speedwaymotors.com/LS1-LT...ing,23476.html
Then use the correct lengths and size of AN hoses to make it work.....
Hope this helps.

You guys are awesome. Hope this helps others out in the future.
I have a BBK 155 fuel pump brand new in the package, will this suffice for the lsx? Or will I need a walbro? I'd like to run the BBK since I already have it

An easier solution (read cheaper) would be to buy the GM fuel line repair kits (dorman Brand) from advance, cut the ford end off your fuel line and splice the repair line in. I have the tool that makes it really easy, Let me know if you need help. Should only cost you about $40 total

I believe you would only fit the straight ended peices so you would need 800-057 for your return line and 800-058 for your feed. Careful my pressure regulator was ruptured so it hydrolocked my engine the first two times i tried to start it.

These come with the metal piece to splice the lines, and 18" of line, you can use hot water or indirect heat to mold the lines, I was able to connect them by boiling the ends when i built my Porsche LS swap, but for my recent Blazer Swap I bought the Dorman tool and it makes it sooooo much easier!!!

So if I purchase those 2 fittings they each come with line and everything needed to couple it together? Thank you for the input I like the fact there's more than one inexpensive solution to this problem

Correct, just be ready for some frustration getting the splice pushed together, I highly reccomend removing the Ford fuel line from the car after you have your length set so you can manipulate it easier.

If they are nylon like the ones pictured, and 5/16 and 3/8 which i dont see why they would use anything different then yes sir! On my s10 swap i did almost the same thing, i made 2 6 inch adapter leads that connected the fuel rail to the blazer fuel lines, used everything else stock as that fuel system runs 60 psi anyway- that was a big difference from my Porsche swap where i completely rebuilt the fuel system.
