Default D1SC Procharged LS2 RX8 Ronin 8.8 Rear End

Hey guys. I'm building an lsx swap RX8.

I used to build sportbikes for fun, as I'm only 20 and funds have never been sufficient for a car build.

Well, I decided to change that.

I picked up an 04 RX8 with blown Apex Seals in PA for 1500$

Brought her back to the mitten and stripped her down.

Later that week I found an 09 TBSS LS2 for 1600$ that looks brand new.

Found a T56 from an 01 Camaro SS with 70k for 800$

I purchased the LSX conversion kit from Stephen Villavaso (3500$)

LS1 water pump (140$)
LS1 Tensioner Pulley
LS1 Alternator (160$)
LS1 Balancer (65$)
LS2 Timing cover (85$)
LS1 Alt Bracket (75$)

T56 Bellhousing
T56 Rebuild kit
Trans lube (650$)

LS6 intake/injectors/fuel rail & 85mm TB purchased (570$)

Oil pan kit (85$)
Pro 5.0 Short Shifter (140$)

Will post pictures later. At SOS now.

I need help on my wire harness options. I can swap my DBC harness and use DBW since I have the 58x reluctor wheel or get the lingenfelter converter box and keep DBC. I'm pinching pennies now.. So I'm all ears for suggestions.

Purchased an e40 ECM and harness with DBW TB and Pedal along with a Lingenfelter converter box.

Now I just need some gaskets, a TOB Tube for the trans, a clutch, and a custom exhaust.

Build progress will start more this week.

Thanks to everyone on the forums offering the knowledge and awesome used parts to help complete this build!

Dang, man, you are finding some deals.

OK, just saw all the rebuild prices on the T56. That cuts into it a bit. Still, good hunting.

Yeah, but it was the best deal I could find. Plus once its rebuilt it will be a fresh trans.

I've been nickle and diming every bit where I could.

• Transmission Crossmember With Torque Arm
• Polyurethane Transmission Mount
• Custom Steel DriveShaft
• Aluminum CNC Machined Trigger Wheel
(Engine speed for instrument cluster)

(I used a 2 Gen Rx7 throttle pedal. Will also
come with install hardware for the Rx7 pedal. Just
let me know your plans for this part)

• Filter/regulator• Custom quick Disconnect Fuel lines
(This is for a returnless fuel rail. Contact me if otherwise)

• Bump Steer Kit
(To correct the geometry of lowering
the rack for oil pan clearance)

Stephen himself answers questions regularly for me and that alone has been worth purchasing one of his kits. Very nice guy.

I hope you've measured the mainshaft for the 5-6 cluster gear fitment and verified the 3-4 fork isn't wallowed at the shift rail or just picked up a new iron fork.

Cool build.

Just ordered Hinson/Stainlessworks Long Tube Headers (1 7/8ths" inlets with 3" outlets)
Hinson/Stainlessworks Y-Pipe
(3" outlet)

For 1150$ shipped.

New the headers are 935 + shipping

New the Y-pipe is 435 + shipping.

These connect into the stock or aftermarket Mazda muffler.

I will be using a 3.5" aftermarket muffler.

Holy **** do you just hate money? Your budget has you in C6 territory. I'm confused are the travel and on car costs separate? I'm doing an RX 8 swap and my realistic budget is a fraction of that. A very small fraction

The travel cost is including what was spent on the car. Uhaul is expensive.

No updates yet, its below freezing in Michigan and I don't have a heated garage. Mom's fiance bailed and took all the tools, will be having it sent to a friends shop and finishing the work there.

I wish I could afford a C6, but I'm under 15k total invested. Can't find a C6 under 30k.

I'm an RX fan but good lord the 8 is slower than dirt and responds very little to bolt-ons. Awesome project but that mount/conversion kit is crazy expensive. Looking forward to seeing the end product.

I'm swapping an RX8 as well. I'm rounding third base. Just exhaust, finish the fuel system and tune it. And yes LS2 C6s can be had under 20k

Forgot I had a thread on here, been posting progress on no rotor.

Bent lip around engine bay for clearance

Dropped steering rack and sway bar so its ready for relocation once lip bending is finished

Stainless works long tubes and Y pipe

Test fit

Test fit is a success, & headers only fit if we took off the K member then reinstalled it.
