67 Cadillac coupe de ville LS swap

Still doing research. Want a 6.2L with maybe 4l80e/4l85e trans. Is this a doable combination? Wiring harness and computers? Will the transmission clear or s it a lot bigger than the th400 that's in there now? All the 6.2L engines seam to come with the 6L80 six speed transmission. Will this fit in the tunnel? It would be nice to just pull everything from a wrecked car or truck and work with it that way. Any info would help. Transmission guys on here. Wiring guys on here. How do I get in touch with them?

The 6.2L engine never came with the 4L80e. The 6L80e is an interesting trans, but is massive. The 4L80e was controlled by an external TCU, while the 6L80e has the control module inside it.
If you want less hassle and want to control both the engine and trans, the Holley Dominator can simplify things, although at a price. However, unless you can modify a stock L92 harness, get a matching TCU, and make all that work with a 4L80, the Dominator offers simple install, wideband o2 for self tuning, and full control of the shift parameters.

I barley got a 4l80e under my car, and The motor is in stock location. The turbo 400's in these cars are long and skinny, I ended up taking an air hammer to trans tunnel to squeek out a little more room . I know your dealing with a different body style than mine , hope it helps in the planning

6.2L and 4L80e
I did notice that the 6.2L did not come with a 4L80e. I did find that some trucks did come with the 6.0L and 4L80e/4L85e transmission. I can go that route and just pull everything from a junked truck. I was interested in the little extra horse power and torque in the 6.2L. How much bigger , dimensions wise, is the 6l80? I'm not to interested in a six speed, but will use it for the extra juice. I liked the 4L80e because the gear sizes are exactly the same as the th400, just with an overdrive.

I'm also following the thread as I have a LQ4 that has been bored out to a 6.2 and we used the stock LS3 internals, a set of L92 heads and the cam/springs ect from a 525HP Hot Cam GM create motor.. The plan is to use a set of LS2 exhaust manifolds with a 4L60e as we are looking for the reliability, local serviceability, and gas mileage the LS offers for long road trips with the car... I'm told the 4L60e is the trans to go with (and we did) given the low first gear and the Caddy's rear ratios for 67 as a side note/comment.... The car will be built as a mild custom and I had Ben Hermance do some renderings of what we're shooting for....
