I am guessing that is a late 67, looks like the frame is raised further back so a 400 would orig fit with the x member back-do you drill a hole and use spacers on 64-66 frame for the adapters, thought I read that somewhere
Looks good, thanks Todd

The frame adapter brackets that come with the crossmember align with the stock holes in the 64-66 frames as well as the 67 frames. You have to drill two holes through the vertical walls of each frame rail to complete the install of the brackets and then the crossmember gets bolted to the top of the adapter brackets.

Not too bad. For reference, my modified stock crossmember is also 21#. Yours is cooler looking.

Yeah, I'm happy with the results and the extra weight that is associated with the frame adapter brackets (1/4" steel plate) comes with the benefit of added frame stiffness. A T56 or 4L80 can also be much more easily R&R'd due to the multi-piece configuration.

Haven't seen anything on this thread for awhile. Things still in progress? Is there a part number for the headers yet? Thanks

Yes, things are progressing at the usual rate. The engine bracket assemblies are in our distribution facility and awaiting boxing. The header production fixtures were just completed this past week, so they can be ran during the next 1-7/8" bender tooling set-up. I don't recall the part numbers off the top of my head, but I can post them up next week for you.

Any word Todd? My car is still in paint jail, but I'd like to know when I can start ordering the swap parts.

Thanks,
Jim

There is progress to report on the release of the parts. The engine brackets were released into the system on Friday and there are sets of both the forward bias and rear bias versions on the shelf; the part numbers for the engine brackets are 71221008HKR and 71221009HKR. They shound be listed on the Holley website and be available for purchase sometime next week. The transmission crossmembers have been delivered to our distribution facility and are waiting for our internal documentation process to catch up with them so they can be boxed up and put on the shelf...I'm going to guess 1.5 weeks for that to happen. I've been informed by the production lead that the first production run of the 1-7/8" long tube headers should take place the week after next.

Just read the whole thread from beginning and so happy for this "system", but I'm biased

For those debating 1-3/4" Vs 1-7/8" headers....

Not surprised but if you are building a +.600" cammed or 6.2L, the bigger header is a no brainer. Personally, I'd only use the bigger header on an LS.

Then again, how sexy would black ceramic coated 1-7/8" header with the new Holley fabricated "Sniper" (black) and polished ARP bolts everywhere

ps. Good job Holley/Hooker and Todd. Been using both products for just over 30 years.

Default Question from outside the box

Todd,
Great job on the fabrication of this stuff it looks great!
I do have a question about something a little out of the ordinary here.
I am planning on using your front mounts and headers and considering the cross-member but I am mounting a G8 l76 (ls2) and a 6L80e. I understand this was not within your design spec. My plan all along has been some pretty serious floor surgery to get the big box in there and achieve usable driveshaft angles. I have adjustable rear upper control arms on the rear end. here is my question.
Will your rear cross-member come close to putting the 6L80e in a reasonable driveshaft alignment but just with the disadvantage of carving up more tunnel space to house the large upper portions of the 6L?
I planned on the forward spacing to give myself some room around the engine / bell housing for the much larger upper front on the 6L80.
Just trying to see if your crossmember would give me the base alignment or if I should just start from scratch and fab something. I hate to cut up your beautiful work to pursue the 6L80 transplant.
Thank you for all your efforts to help all of us achieve LS nirvana
I am lowered about an inch or so.

While I can guarantee that you'll need to perform a moderate amount of floor surgery to achieve desireable U-joint working angles with your 6L80, I have no idea how well, or poorly, the Hooker transmission crossmember would work to support it as I've never performed a mock-up of one in any vehicle.

Thanks Todd! I totally understand.
I am hoping to keep the tunnel mods confined to the area in front of the rear seat and the floor bracing back there.
I will share my pains if you are interested to help others be wiser than I......

I am in the process of the same configuration. I have the G8 that my engine came out of. My plan is to use the tunnel from the G8 and graft it into the 65 Lemans. If that is not possible, then I will cut the tunnel and do what I have to to make it fit.

Hey guys. Both sets of the engine brackets are now listed on the Holley website and are available for purchase. The transmission crossmember will be the next up to get released and the 1st run of the 1-7/8" long-tube headers should take place next week.

Default bung location in long tube headers

Todd,
Can you tell me if there are bungs installed in the long tube headers and where they are oriented in relation to the transmission?
