Default 4L80e swapped - what shifter?

I have a 71 Datsun 240z with a L33 and 4L80e. I am looking for a cheap shifter suggestions. Eventually I will let the set the computer control WOT shifts so it doesn't necessarily need to be an aftermarket ratcheting unit.

Budgets getting used up and I want to get this build running this summer.

As always, new to Chev and the LS engine. Assistance is appreciated

Have you looked at any GM factory options? I'm hoping to adapt a factory 2nd Gen S-10 Blazer shifter from a 4L60E equipped truck. Haven't gotten that far yet, but seems like it should be doable.

Its not a mod. Its built into the shifter. Its literally in the instructions. You take off one clip. Opens up from a 3 speed to a 4 speed. That tci is cheaper but according to summit, doesnt have the neutral safety switch included. Absolutely have to have that hooked up one way or another for NHRA and just pure safety wise. lol Mine was a column shift so neutral safety being built into the shifter made it soooo much easier to wire up on my car. I put a push button in it. Wired from key on hot to shifter, shifter then to the push button. Push button to relay, then to starter. Could go from just ignition wire, to shifter, then to starter. I just like running everything through relays and a fuse block. Had the mounting bracket and everything for the 4l80e included in the box. I researched for a long time. This was the cheapest, easy option for shifters I could find for what I wanted to do. Im going to have the computer run it all WOT as well anyways. Just my .02.

Use the PNP switch on the shifter side of the trans.

Over 15 years ago, I got up super early in the morning and my car was idling in the street. Right where I left it.

I was tired and it didn't click in my mind what happened. Until I saw the column punched out.

I was very glad for the previous owner's B&M install. LOL

I'm using B&m stealth magnum grip pro all I had to do was purchase a second micro switch for back up lights, but it works great.
