The truck is a 2000 Chevy Blazer, i would like to know if anyone has ever done an LS1 swap on one of these, and how much trouble id be getting into! Thanks
It's similar to a s10 swap. The 4l60e is a bit different from the ls1 to the v6 version so if you get an engine and trans from the same donor it'll make things easier.
2 wheel drive or 4? It's not a hard swap to do, The truck and blazer are identical as far as the build is concerned. There are obvious differences between 2 and 4 wheel drive swaps.
Here is my S-10 it's a 2000 Xtreme with a LSA supercharged 6.0 and TR6060 close ratio 6-speed.
The wiring will be pretty much identical to a 2wd swap, The major difference will be in the oil pan and exhaust if using headers. There have been quite a few of them swapped so you might want to spend some time searching this forum and the internet in general.
The link PhilnTx posted is probably the most helpful thing you'll find. S10forum has about 15 years of swap threads you can sort through to find ideas and solutions.
I've done a few 2wd S10s and it's not too terribly difficult. It really comes down to how crazy you want to get with it. I'm working on a twin turbo 5.3/T56 build in a 97 S10 2wd short bed right now. I'm trying to go a little more crazy with this one than i have done in the past.
