Default Mazda or ??? Ads

Mods or Admins-
We don't come here to click on ads in the forums which lately you seem fit to do. Quit whoring yourselves out!

I've been registered on this forum nearly ten years and I've seen the ads go from 95% GM / LSx / performance related (mainly) on the top and sidebar for people I've actually used and considered using to complete unrelated nonsense and click bait. There is physically only so much space in a browser window and so much bandwidth on an internet connection for ads before the content suffers (like now) and people leave, get frustrated or become less active.

Make no mistake, I fully understand the owners need to pay their expenses. I have no problem with the site covering it's costs and even making a few dollars (the reason we're all in business). My problem is when the advert space and advert speed take priority over the content, the root purpose of the side disappears.

Agreed! It's like a TV commercial as part of the show being sponsored rather than a separate time interval. Yeah bills need paying, but don't hog forum space to do it!
Is it about the dollar or quality forums? One or the other....

doesn't the ads also cause the site to bug out at times such as scrolling up/down using the mouse wheel? I seem to have that issue at times, especially when I am subscribed to a thread and get an email link to the said thread only to not be able to scroll up/down at all as the section of the thread's frozen. even refreshing the page doesn't seem to help at times.

oh and back on topic, I'm seeing Toyota ads on the very top and very bottom as well as bottom right sidebar lately.

off topic again, g Asthma, shouldn't this post be under the feedback and issues section?

I posted in the first forum I saw the ads in. Turns out almost EVERY forum was treated to them!

Some ads are specifically setup by site owners and are constant and others run an algorithm and will show you things based on your browsing/sear/buying history.

As in some ad's we all see but most ad's are targeted to us as individuals.

You guys see ads?? Selective ad-blocker software is a beautiful thing - even works on YouTube videos...

(Yes, I know that many sites rely on ad revenue - that's why I used the word 'selective' so that users can whitelist those that are worthwhile - but users should have options vs. sites that just "***** themselves out" ...)

Where are you guys seeing these ads? I have the stuff down the side of the forums that has always been there as long as I've been a member. In the past week or so a "Sponsored Content" thread has appeared at the top of the thread list, but that's pretty unobtrusive and I don't even pay attention to it. No other ads, either at home (FF with Adblock Plus) or at work (IE with no ad blockers because it's a govt computer).

Screen shot from work (a bit downsized). You can see the SPONSORED CONTENT thread at the stop of the Normal Threads section.

[Quiz] Want to Know What Your Car Personality Is?

I don't drive rice burners.. My "car personality" is none of your business.

Think Mazda mgmt will see this?
