Ryan, that's genius! You need to put that in a sub cat "A body tricks" in the sticky you created.

I dont know how to measure for a belt! I was going to figure that out when i got there. Maybe run a string around the pullies, take it off and measure it, now subtract an inch for the tensioner and try it out, if it works it works, if not you are close so try subracting or adding length in 1/2" increments.

It is in the sticky!

The stock setup wraps about 1/2 way around the pully. So, circumference of the stock pully divided by 2 minus the circumference of the new pully divided by 2. That would be the difference in belt length. I would guess its about 1-2 inches shorter.

Based off the above method I get this roughly

Stock pulley, inside diameter 6.125" * 3.14 = 19.232/2 = 9.616"
Ford pulley, inside diameter 5.325" * 3.14 = 16.72/2 = 8.36"

9.616" - 8.36" = 1.256"

So its 1.25" shorter inside length. Subtract 1.25" off your existing belt p/n, for example:
A 5.3 Silverado belt is 93", Dayco P/N 5060930. Dayco makes a 94.1" 5060940 belt and a 92.5" 5060945 one as well, im not sure which one would work better, probably the shorter one.

Use this data bank from Dayco to find yours, good hunting!

I had to use a smaller pulley to clear the power steering box on my Malibu. I used a pulley off a mid 90's S-10. See below for comparison between the S-10 pulley (left) and the Tahoe 4.8 pulley:

The S-10 pulley had to be pressed on a little more to line up. See the shaft protuding on the end of the pulley:

Here's a shot of it from the side, clearing the steering box:

Kind of off topic, but does anyone want to get rid of their large GM ps pulley? If so, shoot me a PM as it could slow down the pump on my SC.

Do you have the pn# off of the Ford Pulley. Doorman may have a new replacement available

There is no Dorman part available, but the new Ford part number is E9UZ-3A733-A.

Check out this thread, its got pics of what I used. Its a PS pulley from a GM 3.1L FWD car. Worked good and there are about 54823490582432903458209345830 of them in existence in the yards.

Default Dorman part number for 3.1l v-6 p/s pulley

FYI the Dorman part number of the pulley referenced above is 300-123. This is a plastic formed pulley. I got mine from Advanced auto for $22. 5.2" diameter so it is 1.3" smaller than the truck pulley I had on mine.

Does anyone have a part number for the belt that would need to be used with the 3.1 pulley so we can keep a record of it in the future?

Ha, I can get it for you when the snow melts in March, the 3 feet of snow is too much.

Just a note on the doorman pulley 300-123.
It's not dished as deep as the original and will hit the PS pump snout before it lines up correctly. Or at least it did on my 05 5.3.
I cut 3 spacers 0.2" thick and put them between the pump and bracket in order to get it on far enough.
