kinda backed your self into a corner there eh?
Any way to go down and across to below the drivers framerail?

I got it, go back and down the intake and cut a hole in the cowl. Put your filter in there it would be sweet

Can you flip the orientation of the turbo 180 degrees so the intake is on the fender side? You will have to remake the down pipe connection pipe but it will allow you to pull cool air from behind the headlight.

It may make plumbing to the intercooler easier too as the outlet will be facing forward instead of towards the firewall.

My old 90 Chevy truck had an air cleaner assembly that pulled air from the fender cavity so it was isolated from the engine bay heat. Maybe that is an option to think about as well if you can not fit a cone filter on there. A fabricated air box sealing to the fender cavity frame where the down pipe connection tube is now with a flat filter element integrated into it may work.

The worst thing that happens is you slightly modify the header to shift the turbo a little one way or the other to make the turbo fit better in the flipped orientation.

wow, I have no idea how you can get the charge pipe back out. To build off running the charge pipe back along the intake, isnt too bad of an idea, if you change back to a air 2 water intcooler, then flip the intake manifold around.

Or rebuild the hotside so that the turbo is turned the other way. Hopefully being able to look at it in person, you can find a way.

Is it possible to have a tight 2.5" 90 welded onto the compressor outlet, and then turn it to where it can feed between the headlight and the exhaust side?

Can you weld on some bends to the compressor housing, and route the charge pipe between the rad/engine?
