im going to relocated the battery and it will be in that area. kinda like the stock location but more towards the corner of the engine bay. then i will run the dp under the heaterbox and down between the frame and motor. I dont know how big of dp i will be able to fit but i want atleast a 3.5" but im not afraid to do some cutting and welding on the truck

well got alot done today. pulled the front end all part. got everything ready to pull the tranny and then the motor tomorrow. pulled the t-case, turbo, upper intake, and everything that mounts to the fenders. took out the a/c and abs. 9 bolts on the trans and 2 bolts on the motor and everything will be out.

There will always be nay-sayers I think its a cool swap. Anything that increases the power and reliability makes sense in my mind. Its not like your tearing up a COPO camaro or something they did make a few more than 69 of those SY/TY's.

Typhoons are infact more common, but they only made something like 2995 Syclones. I've only seen 3 I think total. 1 of which is sitting in my driveway.

If it was a blown motor- understandable, way to go. But in my mind there a MILLION and one GMC S15 or Chevy S10 on the road, and they're cheap as hell to buy, there were only so many true, numbered, syclones for sale and IMO they should be kept stock to mostly stock.

I say cut it up! it only makes all the other ones more valuable! God I hate the "but it's not stock any more" haters. That thing is going to be cool! Keep it up. Let me know if you need any help with GM wiring diagrams. I'm a GM tech. G

I made a very same pan!! It only holds 4.5 qts. of oil I decided to up grade the pan to six qts. with a remote filter and oil cooler, after I read this, https://ls1tech.com/forums/forced-in...tarvation.html I might go bigger on the lines!!
Check into the hydroboost brakes, fairly cheap mod. will give you a lot more room for your coils ect!! Good luck with the build, I've had mine done a couple of times, keep changing my mind, and the WHILE I'M In HERE, bug keeps bitting me. It also put's a big dent in your budget!! LOL

Its just with less than 3000 Syclones made, and them being a one year only vehicle they were unique as hell to begin with. That one was he said "nice running" and it looks clean as sin....why take a collectors item and molest it?

As I stated above, I'm not knocking your opinion....Why should you rag this guy for building a cool, and better project? JUST MY OPINION!!!

Everyone has their opinion, and I'm not knocking yours. But why do you think the OEM's move on to other things? Technology gets better. If it can be retrofitted and make a vehicle better, safer, and faster, why not do it.
