sounds awesome hope to see some more videos soon, nice buy on that 5.3 ty project cobra198. I'm interested in seeing what that 5.3 can put down. I going to attempt a 6.0 or 5.3 swap in my typhoon this year

there have been some updates on this thing. I guess i forgot to post them here so i am copy/pasting them from the other site i post this build on

ok, update time. I burn afew spark plug wires and had a small leak on my oil feed line for my turbo, so............ Time for a change.

I didnt like how close my radiator was to my accessories, so i moved the top forward about 1/2" and the bottom forward about 2". While i was in there i was looking at the placement of my turbo... I have always hated how it looked and was tired of it sucking all the hot air from the engine and radiator. So i started to move everything. So far i have redid the crossover. It still goes around the drivers side frame, but now it goes over the passenger side and under the the header and exits where the old downpipe went down. everything is tacked together and just need final welding, paint, and wrap. I will do the new downpipe the next day it is not raining.

here is where the new crossover goes up

here is the t4 flange location

here is a plug wire. had about 3 of these

nice fan to accessories clearance now

new merge/crossover

did alittle work to it today. found just enough room in there for a PT88

the 4" downpipe gets started tomorrow

built the downpipe today. still need the 4" v-band for the end. the pics are with the wheel turns all the way to the right. also need to buy a new wastegate. The 40mm i got isnt going to cut it. Going to get a 60mm JGS unit. gotta save some cash for that though.

the pics are shitty but there is about 1" between the tire and downpipe

i got my new wastegate and mounted it this weekend, its a 60mm JGS unit. The tube to go to it is 2.25" but i used 2.5 because thats what I had around. The thing is massive.

here is a pic of some downpipes, the sy's 4", the ty's 3", and a syty stocker

ok worked on it again today. got alot of stuff buttoned up. still need to spend another 2 days or so on it

still buttoning things up..... Finished the new turbo inlet today. just need to get a new bigger filter. Hope the non engine bay air is better. Drove it the other day around the block. I have to get the exhaust to the rear, its way too loud since its pointing straight to the ground under the cab.

so we stole some fuel system stuff off the sy for the ty. with that being said it was time to upgrade the sy's fuel system. it will consist of a sumped stock tank, -10 line to the pump, an A1000 pump, -8 to stock truck rails, and -6 for the return. so far i have all of the lines and fittings, i just need the pump and filters. this is what i did yesterday.

holes for the sump

tacked it on

and welded it up

Great Build! you used the standard accessory brackets. with plenty of room. Why do they say use vette accessories.

the truck accessory brackets have the alternator too high for the 4x4 first gen s10's. the vette accessories are about an inch shorter with is a huge plus!

I stopped keeping track when the motor went. i couldn't calculate what it is now with all the trading i did and all the parts I put on the typhoon.
