I'm Fed up, My 240sx LS1 is depressing me!!!
I'm really annoyed from the problems Im facing with my 240sx LS1 swapped car.. first of all, my car is STILL waaaay underpowered even though I have installed my 02 sensors... nothing actually changed... the only thing I see left is my PCV system, which is broken from nearly every place...
But AGAIN as I've said about my 02 sensors, that I don't believe they were causing all the decrease in power, I also don't believe that my PCV system is a cause in the very underpowered LS1... I mean com'on my tires don't even spin on first, and the car is extremely RICH... to the extent that it keeps on stutering till a very high RPM...
What else should I check?! who has ever encountered such a problem?!

o2 sensors have nothing to do with power. when you go WOT they arent even looked at by the ECU.
throwing any codes? you need to get a laptop connected to that thing so you can see what your sensors are saying while driving.

yup I really need to get the Connecter of the OBD-2 connected so I can check whats going on... but just for the sake of checking, how can I check my MAF?! if its working or not... and what else should I check untill I install the OBD-2 connecter and scan...

My temp coolent sensor is broken thats true... but im not using it, im using an external one to work my fans... could it be due to my broken temp coolent sensor?!
And no I didn't dyno, but an LS1 on a 240sx bearly spining on water is kinda scary lool... I mean my Kia Picanto does a better job ...

I know on my LT1 my ECT went bad and it ran like crap, backfiring, missing and what not but it also had a separate coolant temp sensor for the gauges. I am not sure on the LS1 to be honest as i am running mine carbureted.

I changed the ect and it ran alot better. I also had a burnt plug wire so it wasnt the only problem. Thats on an lt1 though. A bad ECT would cause an engine to run rich. It would think the engine is colder meaning the air coming in is colder, which means more dense air in the combustion chamber which means more fuel mixing.

But I needed 02's anyhow because my car was spending fuel like hell...
Anyhow guys lets continue with the important information and disregard people with plenty of time on their hand to just argue online...

thanks to everyone for their help, im going to purchase a PCV system, and im going to replace my ECT also...
Thanks everyone, if anyone has more comments or other stuff that could be causing my problem please post it

I dont know man I cant even roll into the throttle on my ls1/fc without getting sideways and I havent even gotten it tuned.
I cant imagine this engine ever being as poor of a performer like your descriving even if it was down 30whp. Sure your not down a cylinder or 2?

Haha yeah im still tuning my carb setup and it breaks sideways easing into the throttle in 4th gear on 28" 225 street tires. You are way down on power unless you're running slicks, My slicks wouldnt hook in 2nd gear though. It's hard to burn wires on an LS1 IMO. Check your plugs though. What plugs are you running at what gap?
What oil are you running? What rear end ratio? Get a norris catch can for you pcv system. Mine catches all sorts of oil and water vapor. What kind of timing are you running?

I didn't touch the ECU except in removing the VATS, I have AC Delco Iridium Spark Plugs which can't be gapped so I didn't touch that, and I bought them as it was said on the catalog for 98 LS1, I have the 0 - 30 German Castrol oil, 4.11 stock rear 240sx Hicas Ratio, I didn't touch timing... but the car came out of an accident could have anything be affected from that?!

What transmission? Pull your plugs and check the elctrodes on them. I have iridiums on my LT1 and i have heard of some of the electrodes breaking because of how thin they are. I would suggest NGK Tr55s gapped at .050 or NGK Tr6s gapped at .035 for a stage colder plugs. Well since you already spent the $80 it really doesnt matter they are reliable plugs. I dont think the accident would have hurt anything. Wait which car, the donor car?
