Default No readin from my new Coolant Temp Sensor...

I have no reading from my coolant temp sensor, I have an external gauge and I've connected the ground to the chassis (From the gauge), and tapped the green wire on the temp coolant sensor, which is the signal in the 98 camaro, and hooked it up to the gauge, but I gut no reading...

What could be my problem?

Thanks

What kind of car do you have?

I had to run that 3-Wire Temp Sensor the same way for my LQ4 Swap in my '95 Z28, the Signal & Ground Wire to the PCM, and then the third Wire to the Gauges, and it works without a problem.

I would try an analog Gauge, that is what type my stock on is, and then see how it works from there.

The scaling from the GM sending unit may be too far off from what your particular gauge is looking for.

but wouldn't it at least move a tiny small movement...? and how can I test that my ECT is working Voltmeter? cause I also hooked a small bulb instead of the gauge to see if it would light and nothing happened either... should I go for a voltmeter..?

The sending unit is just a variable resistor to ground, so it won't light a bulb. You can check it with an ohm meter. The resistance drops as it gets hotter.
If you measure from the sending unit pin to ground, you should get:

3500 ohms at room temp.
1400 ohms at 100 deg F.
55-60 ohms on a HOT engine (around 260 F).

Tap the Signal Wire from the Gauge with a 12v Wire and see if it spikes..
