Default Mini fuel system is done! (pics)

Went with the return on top of the tank, no tube inside the tank since I didn't want it to vibrate and crack off later. There is a baffle inside the tank that will keep the return and the sump separate.

Holy Moly. That ought to get the job done. Very nice sump set up.

Your drive shaft loop is bigger than the driveshaft.

Very cool, are you worried about debris/trash coming out of the tank into the pump?

The chassis looks great.

I'd love to see it in person some time.

A little, that's why I put a pre-filter before the pump (It's the black unit screwed into the sump).

I didn't even notice it. I used the same inline on my stand-alone pump and my 70's fuel system also

that looks great.

i would be a little worried about pluging up that black thing. we didn't run a pre filter on our fairmont project and ran a very small fuel filter after the pump. we pluged up the pump with junk more than once and were always cleaning that small post filter. i dont know where the junk came from but it got in there somehow. from now on we are running a large prefilter.

I just replaced a pump that got eaten up by debris. I now have a 40 micron filter before the pump and the biggest damn 10 micron filter I could find in front of the carb. My filters now cost more than the pump.

The before pump filter is just to screen out the big pieces to protect the pump.

I have alway read that you don't want too fine of a filter before the pump. Just something to keep the big pieces from damaging the pump. That looks like a Mallory unit with the screen inside. Should be really easy to clean out.

It is the after pump filter that protects the injectors/carb. The after pump filter can afford a bigger pressure drop than before pump filter.

The "black thing" is a 40 micron pre-filter just to pick up the big stuff / debris.

i got that but it doesn't look like it has a lot of area to fill before it becomes a restriction. it will probably be ok but something to keep an eye on once you get it running.
