As far as emission you can get rid of everything except the front O2's but you will throw some codes without reprograming. I haven't had reprograming done to mine yet and it seems to run just fine.( No emissions except the front O2's). The SES light is on, but doesn't see to effect how it runs.
which wiring harness would you recomend;stand alone or modify the stock one. If you have a minute I'm sure lots of us would like to know how to make the vats box .
sweet ride bye the bye
The values I used are 3900 ohms for R1 22000 ohms for R2 and .6 Micro farads for C1 punch them in and you will see you get about 50 Hz with a 54% duty cycle
Here is a picture of the circuit http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-...99/vatsmod.jpg
It works on 5V which is what the PCM is looking for you would need to check the pin out for your particular PCM but most gray wires are 5V
I used the stock harness and modified it where necessary. Not that much is needed. I blended the two harnesses together (the one for the LS1 and the one that was original to the car)
I have the bsm from the donor , how does this help if i dont have the original key? I do however have the steering column and ignition from the donor as well.

Do you have the VIN for the car the BCM came out of. Maybe a dealer could look up the key and chip number for you.

modifing the harness is cake with the manuals, you can even go to the dealer and maybe they will let you print out what you need, all gm service manuals are online now.
stand alone harness's cost 450-700 dollars, you can modify yours for 5 bucks and some time.
thanx ls1 swap . for about 10 buck and ten minutes i made my own vats box pretty simple. Using efilive the computer still says " fuel enable signal not recieved " however she fires up. hot dog
