i was going to get BRP because i can retain the factory F body accessories and im doing a T56 in an auto car so i gotta cut the floor anyway. and the rear crossmember comes with it so u dont have to do alot of work setting the pinion angle. just get adjustable rear arms to set the pinion angle. Im not lowering my car so i wont have an issue with the axle being higher than the trans.
from what ive read about the Adaptor plates. They require alot of fabricating and mount/spacer problems setting the engine in expecially on Pontiac frames.

My Edelbrock plates bolted right up... no fabricating or space issues. Some I've heard have to move the frame mounts and some don't. With the BRP kit you had to move them no matter what, even with the LH8 oil pan.

I remember the instructions for my F-body Edelbrock adapter plates (which are the same for your A-body) recommended an aftermarket oil pan from Milidon... I don't remember the part number but I do remember it was expensive.
As far as your car goes, I couldn't tell you what GM pan would work. You might want to search in this forum and if you can't find an answer start a new thread and ask the A-body guys what oil pan they are using.
I think someone earlier recommended the Autokraft pan. I've heard nothing but good things about that pan but it's also aftermarket and might be a little pricey.

The part number for the Milidon oil pan I mentioned earlier is 30915. Edelbrock claims that is the oil pan they used when they fit their adapter plates to a chassis.

i've worked on cars my whole life so there is no question if i can do it, i just don't have the equipment nessecary to fabricate anything, i would love to but i can't put up the cash for all of that right now.. unless you could convince me that it would be cheaper in the end somehow, but i doubt it.
so for no i'm trying to find the cheapest mount and pan combo that will work in my 73 nova without needing any modifications, and still allow me to use off the shelf headers in the future. i would like to leave everything as is on the LQ9 heck i would even use the pan if i did'nt know it will just cause me big problems in the future.. i'm going to go as cheap as possible on this project as i can without sacrificing safety or reliability.

After reading the post I am still confused on what combination will work in my 64 chevelle. It sounds like the f-body oil pan will not work, but maybe a cts oil pan will. Is this right. This is for the Edelbrock mounts. I have a 99 ls1 from a camaro with all the accessories. Can anyone confirm this
