there shouldnt be that much work involved in swapping an ls1 into a 98-02 v-6 if you have al the ls1 parts right? because thats what i plan on doing. it cant be rocket science. i am thinking about putting it into an 98-02 v-6, if i have all the drivetrain **** and nothing is damaged then it should be an easy swap. i have the k-bar, wire harness, engine, tranny, rear end, everything.

If you really like the car, you might be able to use the paint job to your advantage - if you really bargain with the owner & stress that it's going to be "impossible"
to match the paint if something happens... (Matching it seems like it would be a PITA.)
Also, keep your eyes open, you might be able to find another one that you like even better.

if i were in your shoes i would just part out the car you have and use the money to buy a trans am with the ls1 already in it and save a lot of time and work... unless you want to learn how to do an engine swap and your doing it for that reason.
personal prefference makes a big difference. I do not like formulas or flame paint jobs or formulas with flame jobs... but if you like it then by all means have fun!
