Just saw this thread..Great job..
I would not discount the truck intake.
IF you have room, I think it can be made to look better AND fill the engine compartment up better than the low profile intakes..One thing I do not like about a LS motor in
a early iron (55 chevy car or truck) is how far down the engine looks in the big engine compartment..I think the truck intake (cleaned up) would look better.
Here's my 2000 Silverado engine..Only thing that is not a factory part is the Edelbrock headers..Just took a little time and paint to get it here.

Hi all.
Just got information on a 01 6.0 with 137k. Complete engine with wiring harness and ecm, minus the ac compressor and alternator. Asking $1,025.. What do ya think? Got buy or pass.. BTW, I'll be putting this into a 69 Chevelle with plans for an T56.
thx

Thanks for creating such a great thread. I am going to possibly do an LS swap into my 71 Buick. Being I am on a budget this thread helped. A couple questions:
Luckily I have a couple u-pull it yards in Denver, so I should be the one pulling most of the parts. What I want to know is:
1) How much of the wiring harness do I need to pull?
2) I know that if I go Carbed I shouldn't need the FI harness. Anyother harness will I need?
3) Will my BOP TH-350 work behind a LS engine?
Thanks
Tim

I am going to put a 2008 5.3L silverado motor and trans in my 1968 C10. Can someone tell me what emissions stuff I can take off without effecting the how the engine runs. Pics of the parts to be removed would be great if possible. I was planning on going through Speartech, since I don't have the pedal, TAC, or ECM.
Thanks
Thanks

I am also tying to complete a swap on a budget. whats your opinion on the best route to go when looking to install a 5-speed trans in a 93 Mustang with a 5.3? Ive heard quicktime has an adapter bellhousing but not sure of what clutch items or purchase i.e. clutch fork, clutch disc. I currently have a ford T-5 and the quicktime bellhouing says its compatible with the TKO500-600 and the T-5. If you have any info on how to complete this swap and get the driveline working I would appreciate it!
Thanks!
Thanks!

Little known secret for engine searches and parts is car-part.com. It is where we search for parts at my business. I can get engines with less than 150k for around $250-300. The ones i look for are the ones with low miles and broken valve covers or intakes. They can be picked up cheap on ebay or car-part.

Hey Guys, the 5.3L with an LS1 intake only needs 3/4" bolt spacers for the 5.3L injectors to work. I test drove an LS1 powered Porsche 944 2 years ago and decided I wanted to be the first to swap in the truck motor....All I can say is the 5.3l with LS1 intake and Fidanza flywheel launches just like the LS1 powerplant......

I'm looking into doing a swap in my 71 impala. I've been reading up and found this engine on ebay. Does this seem like a good deal? Thanks for the help.
