Default edelbrock header/mounts first gen

I have search but come up dry.

Has anyone actually installed the edelbrock header/mount combo http://store.summitracing.com in a first gen camaro or firebird?

I am about to start a ls2/6spd in the '69 firebird. I want a dd in the end.
I want it to look factory but with headers. I don't want to dimple the headers. I would rather them fit correctly with the mounts. I was going with the autokraft pan to keep a spin-on oil filter.

Thanks

Scooter, did you use the edelbrock mounts as well? If not, which mounts did you use?

I put a set of these in my '72 Nova with Autokraft mounts and they fit very well. The 3rd gen Nova's run the same subframe as the 1st gen Camaros.

Here are some pics

Mike, thanks for the pictures also. Can you show what the ground clearance is underneath for them. My 68 camaro is lowered so ground clearance is critical. Thanks in advance.

Here is a pic that gives you ground clearance in reference to the subframe. My car isn't sitting at ride height yet so don't base it off the distance from the ground.

Thanks for the pictures Mike. Those hang pretty low below the subframe.

YIKES, I have had those headers sitting on the shelf for a couple months, now you have me worried, they do look to hang down pretty low. Although it does look like the motor is angled down quit a bit in the pic, and judging from the jack I guess the trans x member wasn't in yet.

You are correct, the transmission is not in yet. My Mcleod throw-out bearing should show up this week and then I can mount it on the transmission and get the motor and tranny in for the final time. Hopefully it sits a bit higher up with the cross member in.

Not sure why you think they look like they have been sitting. They look to me just like Edelbrock advertises.

They do hang down a bit below the subframe. They are still much tighter to the floor than many SBC headers I have had. The Stainless Works headers are supposed to be tighter to the floor but I have never seen them with the Autokraft mounts. The Autokraft mounts drop the motor lower than almost every other combination.

I meant I bought some a couple months ago, but havn't got to the point of putting them on, not that yours look like they have been sitting around! I actually dig the flat gray finish, one of the reasons why I bought them.
