1996 LSX BMW E36 Hatchback
Looking for a set of dipsticks, apparently, neither the engine nor the tranny came with one.

Got the engine and tranny in, marked where the tranny will come into the cabin, looked over more of the wiring, checked out the driveshaft for another possible solution besides the ls driveshaft and may have found something good. Also, bought my larger radiator, came in the next day. Sold the porsche brakes, bought new rotors and pads all around and m3 brakes on the front. The front rims inally came in, installed the tires and then the wheels on the car. Test fitment and alignment is now complete. Tearing into two other car projects on top of this one, hope to be done fairly soon with all three.

Got the exhaust figured out as well. Summit sells a set of block huggers for 203$, cats for 56 a piece, and the dual catbacks from an mcoupe that i got for free. I need to cut the spare tire well out, sheet metal over it, and then weld in hangers for the passenger side catback. Its not the freest flowing, but itll do just fine for dd.

, so i had to weld that back in and do the reinforcment kit a lot sooner than i had hoped. Also, had another project thats holding up the swap. The project will be garaged permanantly pretty soon so i can get this thing done. This is what has consumed my time. Gotta get it running so i can have something to drive while this one is down.

Started with the initial differential mount tab tear.

To fix that, i could just weld in new tabs from BMW or dual ear convert it from the regular 3 series, i chose to dual it. Drove to detroit and picked up my new differential cover from a guy who races Euro M3s here in the US.

In the meantime, i built another car to drive while the project car would be under the knife. It was a parts car 98 318ti sport, same color, same package as the other. It required a new engine, complete interior, a lot of electronics, and some maintenance work, but got it all done and has been a very good 28cty mpg daily driver.

Drove the car for about 4 more months then i received the call to bring the car over for the work.
