Question switching over to f body intake from truck intake....?

im switching over to a stock f body intake because of clearance issues....im using the f body fuel rail and injectors..(i think they are slightly different than the truck injectors?) will the wiring connections for the f body injectors work on the harness from my lq4....?

Also because the alternator sits so high i am switching the location of it also....whats the best bracket to use...area 51....etc....?

one more question........Ive heard the truck water pump is in the way...what year of water pump do i need from a f body and will it work with the factory truck pulleys and alternator....? just some info on this swap would be appreciated...

thanks..................getting really close to being done.

As for the injectors, no the truck harness will not plug into the ls1 intake. You will either need to buy the adapters from somewhere. Or you can go to a junk yard and cut them off any 95 + gm car and solder them onto the harness.

No you can't just change to an ls1 F-body water pump. If you do that then you have to change it all to F-body, bc the pulley will not match up to the truck accessories.

easier to use c5 parts, with pulley.
the alt will still mount high and same side as truck
but can use car wp and car intake. i have most of these parts if ur interested.
c5 bracket
c5wp with tensioner
ls1 intake with injectors, fuel rail, i can include car injector pigtails.

am going to be running a ls6 intake with truck acc. the water pump am going to be using is from a 07 truck it tilts more out to the side and clears the ls6 intake. so you dont have to change all your acc. to f body...
but you then need a idler pully relocation bracket.. goes for about 60 or so with belt if i recall...

u might want to switch out the truck oil pan also being that it sits very low lot of people switch out to a f body or cts-v pans with pick up tube and wedge tray.
but a lq4 will fit under there with no problem!

search around on here youll find alot of info, i sure have learned alot.

Hi,
Have you tried dropping the motor in and closing the hood?
It dropped right in my 69 no problem. My engine is in the stock small block chevy location. You may have to make your own engine mount plates out of 1/4 steel plate.
I used an f body oil pan.
